When this stupid thread started, the numbers for deaths from this on going horror were roughly similar to the WORST year the OP could find...and of course counting for each was not the same. If corona virus deaths were counted in the same manner as past flu deaths...the virus numbers would be as much as 50% higher


But in that WEEK...the virus number have blown past even THAT.

So what's next?

Oh yea...just change the numbers for virus deaths.

Okay....I would like you to tell me the subtle differences between a "Social Democrat" and a Socialist. It is my understanding that once government gets control over the economy, it self perpetuates........there is no end. It must feed itself. When over 50% depend on government, there is no turning back. Precisely why the left is using China Virus to shut us down indefinitely. And they do it in collusion with Communist China. There hope is..... no where to turn but government!

 

The left has absolutely no idea of "individual liberty" and "Individual responsibility". They seem to be a "bland collective".

Mind you I have yet to hear how doctors across Europe,America, Australia and the rest of the world somehow went simultaneously insane and decided to kill people in the most labour intensive manner possible

 

Social Democrats don't believe in the people owning the means of production, which is the main defining characteristic of socialism. We follow the Capitalistic model of Sweden, Denmark and many other nations, including, in fact, ourselves. We don't want to give government any more control over the economy than it needs to control the country in general but it does need that.

If we had done what South Korea did when they did we would be opening back up now. Paranoid/narcissist fantasies are costing us thousands of lives and trillions of dollars.

Control....it's what it is all about. Where in the Constitution does it spell out that governemtn needs to "control the people"? It is a slippery slope, mark my word. Those that would trade liberty for security deserve neither!

Trouble with those statistics is that it is difficult to differentiate between a ventilator associated complication and an inflammatory response triggered by the virus or opportunistic organism. What is blindingly obvious is that where health facilities are overwhelmed the mortality rises

So, it seems that "new" is an excuse now. We get variants of flu every year. Mutation of the existing viruses that we've perhaps seen before. And of course, just because it's new doesn't make "new" more dangerous. And it seems entirely disingenuous to say that the flu that also killed 80K folks last year was just a "seasonal illness", because those folks who died from it were somehow just destined to have died because it was well known? If so, how does that make dealing with Wuhan Flu any different? There doesn't seem to be any justification for it given what is already out there that, frankly, doesn't have any real vaccine that keeps those folks from dying.

So, I would just say this. There is a huge difference between simply warning me and turning off the economy because you believe that I won't heed your warming. I know, somehow you believe that your predilections outweigh those of anyone else. And because you took the time to "warn me" that because I didn't listen to you that it then justifies your demand that we just kill all of the economy because you weren't being listened to. That sounds exactly like you are pouting because you feel that others aren't listening to you.

So here's the thing though. You aren't interested in others "warning" you about some of the modern liberal excesses. Quite the opposite. If a warning in any way challenges the socially permissive world that you enjoy, you folks are the first to call others racists, or worse, because you can't, and won't tolerate others telling you what to do in these cases.. So spare us the "we told you so" BS. It's as incredible as most other of your positions.
