Are we testing prisoners and homeless? Since testing kits are a priority, and prisoners and homeless are never a priority, I assume we're not testing any of them.

Prisoners aren't such a big deal, because pretty soon we'll have testing up and running, and they're easy to "lockdown". Although it's probably been spreading undetected through a lot of prisons by now, given the overcrowding. And it would probably go unnoticed. If 10,000 prisoners had it right now, across the country, that would only mean a small uptick in (what appears to be) flu deaths and hospitalizations. It would be lost in the statistical noise of a normal flu season.

But the homeless...what are we going to do with them? We can't let them become a reservoir for Coronavirus. We're going to have to actually figure out a way to get them off the streets and out of those camps. California never did take the problem seriously. If we had, we wouldn't have so many homeless. We would have made home construction much easier to do. But now we have to really solve this.

    So, what's the solution?

Common sense, adequate personal precautions as outlined by the authorities and the self control to NOT constantly try to spread panic.

If you were a viral pathogen designer working top secret projects, and a scientist of tremendous ability, here's what you would you do if your boss gave you the following assignment:

Design a highly communicable virus that spreads easily and that will infect almost all people, but that will spare infants, children, and the young, and that will spare healthy adults, but will kill the old with underlying conditions, kill the obese, kill the junkies, kill the homeless, and kill many in the prisons.

You would place a vial of COVID-19 on your boss's desk as quickly as you were able. That would accomplish the objectives with considerable effectiveness.

And likewise anything that can generically be done against COVID-19 will stymie all of the above negative objectives.

So you fight COVID-19 with what you have available, and with more when in becomes available, and as that fight builds up nobody will get left out. But you can't get it all done at once. So you favor the general public first and don't worry about prisoners until everybody else gets their share of help.

No, the solution to the homeless problem. You can't let this become a reservoir in their camps. What do you specifically do?

And anything short of the entire world being killed, he’ll say he was right.

I was just thinking about this actually, And you're right, it's a big issue but you also have to consider that prisoners are sometimes transferred to other prisons(and other facilities) and that this too, can cause a spread of the virus. So even in a controlled setting like a Prison where mobility is controlled by law enforcement, they're still.moving. It's not like a kernel and a dog.

I think we need to make make-shift hospitals like with military hospices. And with those barrack-like settings, we can temporarily house the homeless, and we should have the CDC/Experts visit prisons across the country and work to contain the virus from inside.

I agree with Tom Cotton(R-Arkansas.) I'm of the belief that the Chinese possibly had intentions of using this as a bio-chemical against the United States. BIo-chemical and soft warfare will be the warfare of the 21st century. And we've yet to adapt military personnel and strategies to deal with these type of threats.

Many homeless live on the street by choice and not through necessity. It would be impossible to contain them without a full blown riot taking place.

    Simple, build them homes.

That should cost about the same as our 15th Aircraft Carrier Group.

I've no idea what "bushwa" is but I am guessing it is more along the lines of ... build everyone a house!

It could and should be done. It would cost far less than what we do now and far less than people think.

And how do you propose making people live in these free houses that don't want to? Armed guards?

Ahh! A non-nuclear MAD. It appers the coronavirus is hurting the Chinese economy more than the US economy...but it is early yet.
