Today 61% of patients hospitalized FOR Covid in Massachusetts were fully vaccinated when they contracted Covid. Perhaps it’s time to use a systems approach to solving this problem. There are other mitigations as effective as vaccination for the unvaccinated that used in conjunction with vaccination make vaccination more efficacious. This is a life’s disease, not a disease of the unvaccinated. It’s time to accept that.

How sick were those patients? What we saw here was that the hospitalisation rate to icu admission rate fell from approx 1:4 pre vaccination to 1:11 post vaccination although that is mixed stats with some vaccinated and some unvaccinated

Sick enough to be hospitalized FOR Covid, not with Covid. That’s what makes Massachusetts reporting unique. It’s a fact vaccination reduces severe Covid and even prevents some infections. But it doesn’t prevent enough of either. It’s time to accept the fact Covid is a lifestyle disease vaccination can’t mitigate on it’s own. It’s time to educate individuals on how to protect themselves as Covid moves into the endemic phase. We can save a lot of lives if we can accept ALL proven mitigations and implement them as far as possible. It’s time to admit the one trick pony approach is costing lives, health, and resources of healthcare facilities. We need to do better. What makes you think our stats are not the same? This was NSW and Victorian data from the national database remembering Australia has a UHC Administered by the states. We cancelled routine surgeries or farmed them to private hospitals during the peak and started extensive networks of “Hospital in the Home” using remote monitoring equipment. Plus the change I was talking of was shown during the vaccine rollout. We saw an absolute fall in ICU admissions
