There's a referendum to be held amongst Croatian citizens on wether Croatia should enter the EU or not, so I was wondering if people could share their reasons for and against joining.

I was hoping that some present EU citizens would share their insight on how the EU made the lives of ordinary people in their home countries better or worse.

Thanks everyone in advance for any constructive input you might share with the rest of us waiting to see what awaits us there.

First, as a French citizen of the EU, the prospect of being bailed out by Germany is much more appealing than that of being invaded.

Also, I am pleased to be part of such an international alliance which promotes peace and cooperation between all of its memberstates.

Finally, I am glad to be able to travel without too many difficulties and avoid having to do business with greedy people in change offices.

I think joining the Eu would be a disaster. The EU destroyed Greece, Ireland and Portugal....

    1) Let the EU fix itself for reformation.....
    2) When the EU fixes itself..than it would be wise for Croatia to join...

Otherwise , let croatia become a banking haven for offshore accounts used by wealthy EU businesses to hide their money from high EU taxes...

Croatia can be rich by these means..

That is very unfair to the EU.

The EU did not destroy Ireland.

The Euro certainly contributed to our decline however our own greedy bankers, feckless politicians and negligent regulators had as much to do with the collapse and far more culpability.
