You would think Christmas is a time of cheer for most families gearing in to the holiday spirit and setting forth buying presents for their kids and family members. However on 11/30/2017 so was not true to the members of the CVS team in Oahu Hawaii as roughly 90 percent of the entire staff was laid off leaving only a skeleton crew behind to attempt to run an office that required a full time staff and comprised of several departments up to and including advertising. Many employees being emotional and over whelmed with shock and grief as they were essentially told that a lifetime of service was worth nothing. Some who require the medical benefits their jobs have or like many in Hawaii are part of a house hold where it requires many incomes from the members of the family in order to simply just survive due to the high cost of living there. As a result placing many families at risk in joining Hawaii's already ever growing homeless population due to the decline in the economy. CVS a company that promotes career opportunities on their web site and Facebook page and projects itself as an ever growing company that cares about it’s customers and it’s employees has given the gift of termination as a thank you for a life long term of service to it’s employees in Oahu Hawaii. :(

    Ouch !!!

    Layoffs were predicted for CVS.

I'm lucky that the store that is a block away from my home is doing fine.

It is in a good location at the + of two major streets/roadways.

I shop there all the time for my aspirin, ibuprofen, antihistamines, deodorant powder, tooth brushes, sunglasses, first aid supplies, and any other items that I need which I can't find at the grocery superstore.

CVS has better quality than most superstores.

According to my source I don't think the stores will be effected nearly as much. They are laying off people and trying to run everything from one central location. Their main office if I am not mistaken. The problem with that is aside from so many loosing their jobs after a lifetime of service is there will no longer be anyone locally to handle any problems that may arise. So essentially the quality of service may go down over time.
