Deconversion stories and their causes

Sadly there are many false and/ or mutually exclusive doctrines, along with an extensive record of christian cults. Attempting to winnow the doctrinal wheat from the chaff seems necessarily a personal endeavor. Which imo results in a wide range of diverse and apparently subjective views of the nature of religion. And while it is appealing to be able to customize a comfortable personal dogma, Imo it undermines the idea that religion reflects some transcendent reality.

That said, maat, ...despite our disagreements on most issues...i have always admired your sincerity and personal integrity
