There is little doubt that we are living under what could be aptly described as presidential ventriloquism. The leader of the Unted States is not in a coherent state of mind and most of the world knows this. The problem is that the dummy is not totally under the control of the ventriloquists. Occasionally something comes out of that wooden mouth that is not scripted and dangerous. Biden’s statement that the Russians could be forgiven for a minor incursion into Ukraine is as perilous as any statement a world leader could make. It is right up there with Neville Chamberlain telling the British people that Hitler made a deal not to attack England. Biden should be removed from office before he starts World War Three.

The people need to understand that this is not the first time a presidential administration has brought bloodshed to the country through sheer incompetence. Geoge Bush the elder sent April Glaspie, his ambassador to Iraq to meet with Saddam Hussein to find out why he was massing troops on Kuwait’s border in 1990. Saddam had been useful to the US as a counterbalance to Iran, so Bush told Glaspie to make nice with Hussein and not make waves. Glaspie went right to the bottom of the stupid barrel like a lot of overeducated people in high places. Glaspie said to Hussein:” We have no opinion on Arab/Arab conflicts” which Hussein interpreted as a green light to invade Kuwait Which he promptly did, fearing only a diplomatic response.

After the invasion, Bush had no choice but hide his mistake and preside over what became the Gulf War. This eventually led to the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001. Bush the younger attacked Iraq to cover for his father’s ineptitude after New York city was attacked by Saudi Arabia, enraging Arabs everywhere. Bush the elder should have been removed from office but instead we got the Arab spring and millions died. If Bush, the elder had been impeached as he should have been the Gulf War never would not have taken place and 3,000 innocent civilians would not have died. Of course, history unfolded differently and Dwight Eisenhower’s warning about a military Industrial Complex was ignored while the US press become propaganda mechanisms for the status quo. Nothing has changed.

Now we are told to defend democracy for a corrupt country that like Iraq does not know the meaning of the word and could not care less.

iraq was an imperfect democracy. like the usa itself they had the form of a democracy, a parliament, elections and such but not much actual choice.

kuwait, on the other hand, had the kinf of government favored by conservatives - an actual hereditary monarchy.

before we run off to make donbass safe for democracy, we need to make our own democracy, or republic, whatever work.

if I’m reading you right, you’re saying we need to avoid sending green lights to war-hungry countries as that’s the surest way for us to be drawn into war ourselves.

oddly however, you then green-light Russia to just go ahead and take over Ukraine in your last paragraph because Ukraine sucks anyway.

basically your first and last paragraphs are at odds with one another imo, and that makes it difficult to know exactly what you’d like to see happen on the Ukraine issue.

We are not told to do that, and nor will we defend it.

We can barely defend the attacks against our own democracy, and some people still dispute the results of out elections.

Kuwait and Iraq were not democracies to begin with.

Ok, I've noticed a shift in conservative comments on Ukraine away from lamenting on American weakness towards just giving Putin Ukraine. So which talking head came up with this?
