We are having an election right now anyway, and included in it are options for the local government to raise some amount of money for some project or something. WHY not include a vote on: 1. closing the Southern border 2. exiting the war in Ukraine, 3. and on whether to continue sending bombs to Israel? BECAUSE they might save the United States, but cost the reputation of the soft liberals, reverse some of the worst actions of the Biden Administration, and prevent a politician from doubling down on previous mistakes. Democracy WORKS better than bribery. The poll is obviously anonymous and multiple choices are allowed
Rationale 1. Who benefits from the open Southern border? People die trying to reach the United States who taking everything into account would be better helped by the US doing something to help with actual help, not just sending bombs and bullets which is what 'help' usually means when used by politicians. Actual real help their country of origin.
Rationale 2. Ukraine and Russia had been not at war for the 3 decades since both gained their independence from the USSR. During those 3 decades inevitable problems were resolved because administrative boundaries were not a good choice for national boundaries, but the problems were resolved diplomatically. It was primarily after the Biden Administration got in, and the 'help' sent to Ukraine had reached the Ukrainian Army that bombardment of Donetsk needed to be stopped and Russia did as promised and moved forces in. Ukraine and Russia did a far better job of resolving their issues in the 30 years before we got involved. Now the only quick option is to stop supplying weapons and leave the situation in the hands of Russia. You may not like that option but right now 1,000 Ukrainians are dying every week. As for this talk about 'freedom', do some research and find out about it.
Democracy can only work well if the information fed to the public is accurate, and in the case of the war in Ukraine isn't and the pieces they give us don't fit together. Joe Biden on Feb 24 2022 claimed: "The Russian military has begun a brutal assault on the people of Ukraine without provocation, without justification, without necessity." other media claimed the attack was disorganized, cowardly and the forces had poor morale. Which was it? Without a good alternative source of information the public won't know and democracy will not work as well. People do eventually work out which pieces fit and which don't, if given enough time and not bombarded endlessly with false information.
