After a trip to Californias citrus rich San Joaquin Valley to visit relatives,I witnessed this with my own eyes.Among the miles and miles of citrus are dead and dying brown orchards.I then noticed signs like these on the side of the road

We stopped at a gas station to buy some drinks on the way to Fresno and noticed this sign.It reads:"ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!NO WATER,NO JOBS,ALL THE FAULT OF COSTA,BOXER,PELOSI!"[IMG]
Wondering what this was all about ,I decided to talk to a farmer about this(thinkfully I understand spanish)The story is,Congress shut off water from the Delta to irrigate the crops because of some endangered fish,I dont know,he didnt explain much, but sure was pissed and had not very many great things to say about Pelosi,Costa, and Boxer(calling them names I cant say here)So I decided to look into it online

The Congress Created Dustbowl... San Joaquin Valley

What is the Congress Created Dust Bowl? Due to drought and Federal legislation water has been turned off to farmers in Southern California creating what farmers are calling the Congress Created Dust Bowl of 2009. This California dust bowl could effect us all by causing higher food prices.

Are valley farmers in Southern California killing whales?

A new regulation announced by the Obama Administration on June 5, 2009 will reduce valley water supplies by as much as 500,000 acre feet – enlarging the ongoing devastation associated with current shortages.

In a briefing for Congressional offices, the National Marine Fisheries Service announced that the operation of both federal and state water projects are contributing to the possible extinction of salmon, sturgeon, southern resident killer whale, and steelhead.

The new reductions will be on top of water cut-backs associated with the Delta Smelt and the San Joaquin River Settlement.

    Delta pumps shut down

Early in 2009, the Bureau of Reclamation, for the first time in the history of the CVP, projected zero water allocations for agricultural water service contractors on the westside of the San Joaquin Valley. Despite adjustments to provide token water deliveries, no meaningful relief has come. As a consequence, as much as 500,000 acres will be forced out of production and, according to a recent forecast by economists at the University of California, Davis, more than 40,000 farm workers will lose their jobs. Moreover, these job losses will occur in poor, rural communities, such as the City of Mendota, which already has unemployment rates in excess of 40%, and these communities are the least capable of reacting to this economic devastation.

Despite these harsh realities, we see no assistance from the state or federal government. Without action, the situation in the San Joaquin Valley will evolve from one of desperation to one of chaos.

The above story comes from a website devoted to fighting hunger in the world
    My Views

In the above story, we see the true devastation wrought by the Obama Administration upon the San Joachim Valley. Not only that, but we learn even more about this matter as it wasn't just the endangered fish that caused the water to be turned off, but actual legislation by the Obama Administration itself passed on June 5, 2009 claiming that state and federal water projects could be causing the possible extinction of salmon, sturgeon, southern resident killer whale, and steelhead. These water projects have been ongoing since the mid 19th century and if they were contributing to such extinction, these fish would already be gone by now and no such studies have drawn any conclusions like this until the lawsuit filed by environmentalists that got most of the water turned off.

Now we know the greater truth as not only did the Obama Administration not do anything to stop the water from being cut off and almost every Democrat in Congress vote down all legislation aimed at saving the smelt and the valley... they actually created legislation that cut off even more water to the valley in June causing groups who fight world hunger to address this as a man made catastrophe.

Where was the media coverage? Other than FOX News, there basically wasn't any.
This puts the story of Donnie Deutsch into greater perspective http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/donnie-deutsch-removed-... as he got the higher ups at MSNBC and NBC furious with him because he dared to lump Keith Olbermann in with a story where he was addressing anger in America discussing the talk show hosts. He was fair and impartial in including Olbermann and the brass went apesh*t revealing they do in fact censor stories and are 100% biased in their reporting to the point if anyone goes against the stated agenda... they will be punished and could be fired. FOX, by comparison, has given their reporters the freedom to do this and, in fact, this has led to heated battles between their anchors and news personalities leading to incidences where people have walked off camera in rage and screaming in rage at one another in front of the camera's.

So where was the media coverage? It was at FOX News because the left leaning media tried to hide the San Joachim Valley incident because it makes the Obama Administration look even worse than the Bush Administration because even he would not have allowed the water to be cut off in the San Joachim Valley.

The devastation in the San Joachim Valley has cost us billions of dollars in damage, hundreds of thousands of jobs (most belonging to minorities who are Democrats), it has increased the amount of foreign imports to make up for the shortfall from nations which do not follow our environmental laws increasing potential health risks and it has created one of the worst man made ecological disasters in US history which contributed immensely to our current economic crisis. In the videos below, you will even see how Ken Salazar did send money to help the drought in California... but sent all the money to regions in California NOT experiencing any drought revealing just how far the Democrats have gone not to just cut the water off, but to misappropriate funds to regions who don't even need it.

So why don't the Democrats seem to care?

First, due to the leftwing media blackout, most of them don't even know it happened.

Second, their love for Obama and not wanting to see him fail has led them to a state of blindness on issues like this... and they wonder where the "messiah complex" accusations stem from.

Third, hundreds of thousands of people in California are becoming Republicans and Independents in California abandoning the Democrats over this issue

Fourth, it makes the environmentalists look like braindead idiots that to save a few fish they totally destroy a region in California the size of Rhode island.

Fifth, it splits the Democrats against one another as groups fighting to stop world hunger oppose this devastation while environmentalists praise it.

The list goes on and on. But what it really comes down to is that while many praise Obama even when he has proven a failure thus far as President and succeeded only in uniting the Republicans while splitting his own party against itself, most are beginning to see the light that he is a continuation of the Bush Administration rather than a change from it. But what San Joachim represents is an even worse reality... what San Joachim represents is the indisputable proof that the Obama Administration is worse than the Bush Administration and that's the real reason the left leaning media to this day will not address the San Joachim Valley issue because they know it will clearly separate Obama from Bush in the eyes of the public and he will not be able to blame Bush when people see such devastation of epic magnitude caused by President Barrack Obama's Administration.

I wanted to post a story like this awhile back, but since the ignorant Left decided to post threads blaming Rick Perry for our drought here in Texas, well,I guess tonight was the best night.Unlike what Pelosi,Obama,Costa, and Boxer are doing to Californias Central Valley farmers, our drought isnt Perrys fault.

I cannot comprehend how those farmers did not go postal.

In the meantime, CA is still run by idiot liberals. They elected Moonbeam.

Meanwhile, liberal utopia is becoming liberal cesspool. There was no other logical outcome.

Build the border fence now. Between California and Nevada ! Oregon too !

    A completely BS issue.

The ever-expanding conversion of dry land to irrigated crops is the heart of the matter. Ever-expanding orchards, subsidized corn crops, and other uses have greatly increased the water these farm corporations used. However, in the past, rains and snow were good and cities were not yet large enough to use all of their water rights. The exess could be purchased cheaply by the state to be subsidized to farmers.

The farmer corporations' problem is that over the years, they grew accustomed to grabbing cheap subsidized water which was not theirs, and as other entities have started using the water they own, the river sources have gotten lower and lower while the ag interests kept taking mroe and more water.

What has happened recently is that, because the river was nearly running dry, water rights have started to be enforced, and the ag interests now have to get by on what they legally own.

They wanted to dry up the Sacramento delta rivers and kill all the fish and wildlife, and the courts have said no, quite appropriately so.

    Here is the reality:http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/water...lan/comments/south_delta_diversion_report.pdf
When these ever-expanding farm business interests say "Congress created Dust Bowl", what they mean is:

    A. The feds and states has not allowed them to take other cities' and states' water,
    and
    B. They have not been allowed to drain ENTIRE ECOSYSTEMS dry to provide cheap subsidy to their operations.
    and
    C. Congress did not immediately spend 5.5 BILLION dollars of taxpayer money to provide them with MORE subsidized, cheap water from NEW reservoirs, dams, and canals/pumping stations from far-away rivers.

They have gotten by on STOLEN water, and have been very upest when they were stopped, blaming their problems on Congress and Obama, although the campaign was in full force while Bush was still in office!

The farmers have ignored the issue and are trying to blackmail citizens into paying their way.

Here is what these corporation want the taxpayers to pay for, and maybe that is fine, but NO ONE got these welfare recipients into trouble except themselves and their wasteful practices.

PS. I have driven the I-5 and Hwy 99 corridor for 20 years, and the immense span of green fields has grown constantly over that time.

It is funny looking at these protest signs, and you can even see in the pictures that they are planted in a plowed field (you don't plow fields you aren't going to plant), and a little way back you see the start of unending green fields.

Most of the signs are this absurd! Massive groves behind a little trip of land. There are thousands of acres of new groves being planted RIGHT NOW I watched in sight of the highway on a trip two weeks ago.

As I said, total BS. They just want more freebies.
