It's encouraging, but don't count your chickens before they hatch. Republicans have gamed their way into a distinct advantage though gerrymandering. We will need about 55% of the vote to get 51% of the seats. So we can not afford to stay home like we did in 2010,

Get your ass out and vote!

There's more of us than there are of them!

Amazing you want a single party govt. If you get what you want, will you cancel the 2016 elections and name Dear Leader King of America?

I don't think you are going to be pleased! You might gain some seats, but keep in mind that very people even vote in mid-term elections and they have VERY short memories. Combine that with gerrymandered districts and it's a long shot at best.

Not to mention Obamacare will be on full swing by next Nov. Unless Obama decides to delay the indiv mandate until after the mid terms, there's a very good chance Dems will lose seats. Folks are not happy over a forced new car payment without the new car. Dems may pay big time.

Dude, I hate Republicans! Hell, when I criticize them I get accused of being a "leftist" whatever the hell that means. But the fact both sides think I am on the other side means I am doing something right. Because both sides suck equally. In any event, the stone cold facts are exactly as I stated. It's a long shot at best. Sorry.

I think Republicans are in for some very bad news next election the country has seen what saddle the Republicans put on their horse. A bunch of Tea Party nut jobs. After the government shutdown they pretty much are toast they will lose the house. The funny thing is Fox News will tell them they will win.

all we have to do is remind voters how the Republicans in the House caused a govt. shutdown and were within hours of defaulting the govt.

that will win us back the House.

    :)

so you're saying you don't want Republicans to win the White House and Senate?

Neither party should be in full control and luckily every time it happens, they screw up so badly that people turn the other way.

I remember righties claiming their 100 year reign after Kerry got beat.

Heck I specifically remember krouthammer saying Bush earned a mandate with a result of 51-48.

Then you get the left saying the same darn thing when Obama wins 51-47.

How are either of those a mandate? There is less than a 10% difference in both darn cases!!!

I bet if you polled the country the majority would agree with South Park. You are basically choosing between a turd sandwich and a giant (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

It is the extremism. I don't mind moderate Republicans, they understand a democracy and will compromise.

At this point in time it's all wild speculation. Wait until at least the beginning of March 2014 before worrying how the mid term elections are going to shape up. Considering what Obama and the DEMs did in order to push the unpopular Obamacare system through while also generating the impression that they had collectively done diddly-squat concerning the economy it wasn't really all that surprising that the mood of the nation shifted very early in 2010. Also political realists understood that the Democratic Party's leadership was dramatically overconfident in their dismissal of the fast growing Tea Party movement as a political force to reckon with. But there's no such indicators here and now.

The GOP's recent efforts are simply not all that important to average citizens when placed against nearly a year and a quarter time gap. Even Obama's tremendous Obamacare signup failures may not be a significant issue down the road. So it's still very much 'wait and see' time.

It clearly does. Both sides are equally inept, corrupt and morally bankrupt. So belonging to either side would be a serious character flaw.

    I agree with that.

I'd like to see a half a dozen or so parties with proportional representation in congress like they do in most of Europe.

The current Democrats in the US are a center right party.

    The Republicans are far right.

We need some political weight on the left for balance.

BH Obama would love to delay the poor boy mandate but I can't see how he can do that now, after closing the government and taking us the brink of planetary chaos over keeping it.

I hate to back talk or make a suggestion to Smart Mouth Women but, obama-care will have slung to a dead stop my next Nov. No one will even dare to poke it to see if it's alive by then.

BH Obama may let the dems come up with a delay but how that would work I can't imagine.

Millions of obama worshipers must be calling day and night asking why they haven't gotten their free abortion pills and AIDS meds by now that they realize that it is they who have the numbers to pay for this new slavery scheme.

Once you give them your personal information to the slave masters you are screwed and the poor and the ill are the ones walking into this with their eyes closed and hoping for some relief from their despair. they will find a moment of comfort perhaps but in the end the young that are expected to pay the bulk of o-care will hate them.

So you've chosen to take a position between bad and worse.

    Just as I thought.

The right wingers are all over this like stink on (*)(*)(*)(*).

I can feel their fear even though a thousand or more miles of fiber optic cable.
