Dershowitz to Newsmax: Arresting Trump Won't Keep Him Out of 2024 Race

…those who believe that an indictment and prosecution would keep Trump from campaigning are "dead wrong."

"He can run for president even if he's indicted, convicted, and wearing striped shirts, prison garb," said Dershowitz. "The Constitution provides only four bases for disqualification for president, and being convicted of a crime is not one of them. Congress can't change the criteria that are in the Constitution for the election of the president."

Dershowitz, meanwhile, said he thinks the Justice Department was trying to circumvent the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments to the Constitution by bypassing a subpoena and instead obtaining a search warrant to enter Trump's home.

"When you have a subpoena, the judge has to look at every document and see whether it's classified, declassified, or privileged and whether a Fifth Amendment claim could be made," said Dershowitz. "I think they were also looking for the widest array of evidence they could possibly get, including evidence relating to Jan. 6."

Meanwhile, liberals have "always objected" to the use of search warrants rather than subpoenas, but now they are "jumping up and down" because of the FBI raid last Monday, he said.

"We're living in an age where progressives and radicals on the left believe you can do anything," said Dershowitz. "You can trash the Constitution. You can destroy the rule of law as long as the goal is to get Donald Trump."…

The Biden regime is trampling upon the constitutional rights of its opposition. There was no justification for the mar-a-lago raid. It is good to know that even if they persecuted trump to the extent that they put him behind bars, they could not prevent him from running for President in 2024.

 

What is being reported here is good news. Putting Trump away will only make him a martyr like symbol for us and for what is wrong with the professional class and the deep state. Such a move will only make our support for him white hot and more intensely committed than ever before. If we have to vote for him for President to get him out of Prison, then that’s what we will do. What Dershowitz said about the left and their willingness to twist the constitution and do whatever the means need be if it’s to get Trump is spot on

 

If voters elected a president serving a jail term, I think that pretty much signals an end to this country. The amount of stupidity that would need to exist for such a thing to happen could mean nothing else.

Me personally, I don't care if Trump's legal troubles keep him out of the 2024 election or not. I'd just like to see the man finally have to be responsible for something he's done. His entitled "can't touch me" attitude is just another aspect of his disgusting personality.

 

We will be proud to vote him out of jail and into the presidency. Putting him in jail in the 1st place is the sure sign we’ve lost it as a nation as that would be an act done and supported only by stupid people.
