Where is the data that any of DeSantis redundant policies will have an affect on the number of child abuse incidents?

I support data proving his policies will reduce occurances of child abuse. I want to know why you think government does a better job then the parent.

 

The parents are not being sanctioned, the liquor serving establishment that allowed children in to see an adult themed sex show is losing its liquor license for violating the terms under which the liquor license was granted.

LEAVE THEM KIDS ALONE: DeSantis Goes After Foundation for Lewd Drag Show Event With Children Present.

Last December, some very disturbed Leftists put on 'an event called “A Drag Queen Christmas” at venues in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Orlando. The show was part of a national tour, and despite the repeated claims that the event was “family-friendly,” it was loaded with graphic sexual content.'

Disgusting adults aimed it at children and then let their freak flags fly. You can go to the link if you want to see video, it's pretty disgusting, children as young as 9 years old were there to watch 'men with kink harnesses grab their privates, grind, and simulate humping.'

The State of FL promptly put them on notice that this appeared to be violative behavior.

'The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is aware of multiple complaints about a sexually explicit performance marketed to children held in Fort Lauderdale on December 26th. The Department is actively investigating this matter, including video footage and photographs from the event. DPBR will, like in other cases, take action.'

'Exposing children to sexually explicit activity is a crime in Florida, and such action violates the Department’s licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license.'

'The Department will share any collected evidence with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) for potential criminal liability.'

'Florida’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DPBR) has filed a six-count complaint against the Orlando Philharmonic Foundation, Inc. for hosting the event in Orlando on Dec. 28 while children were present. The complaint could cause the venue where the drag show took place to lose its liquor license.'

They were given fair warning by the State: 'prior to the shows, it warned the foundation that “Sexually explicit drag show performances constitute public nuisances, lewd activity, and disorderly conduct when minors are in attendance” and that if the foundation “failed to ensure that minors were prohibited from attending such performances, its license would be subject to penalties up to and including revocation.”'

But rather than heed the sensible warnings, they decided to just FAFO.

'State Rep. Anna V. Eskamani (D-47th district) went after the governor in a tweet thread complaining about his “anti LBGTQ+ agenda.”'

Perhaps she is unaware that subjecting children to adult sex shows is NOT part of the LGB agenda. Gays against Grooming has been one of the more loud voices making it quite clear that the vast majority of LGB do NOT support this.

Keep it up! And why isn't every Republican Governor doing the same?

 

Also DeSantis's administration does NOT have the power to revoke alcohol licenses from establishments that hold Drag Shows that minors have attended.
It's a long process and until completed establishments can continue serving alcohol.

"When the historic Plaza Live theater in Orlando hosted an event last December called “A Drag Queen Christmas,” the show drew a full house, noisy street demonstrators — and a small squad of undercover state agents there to document whether children were being exposed to sights that ran afoul of Florida’s decency law.

The Dec. 28 performance featured campy skits like “Screwdolph the Red-Nippled Man Deer” and shimmying, bare-chested men who wouldn’t have been out of place at a Madonna concert. Also a hip thrust or two, similar to what is sometimes indulged in by NFL players after a touchdown. All of it was dutifully recorded by the undercover agents on state-issued iPhones.

But while the agents took photos of three minors — who appeared to be accompanied by adults — at the Orlando drag show, they acknowledged that nothing indecent had happened on stage, according to an incident report obtained exclusively by the Miami Herald.

“Besides some of the outfits being provocative [bikinis and short shorts], agents did not witness any lewd acts such as exposure of genital organs,” the brief report stated. “The performers did not have any physical contact while performing to the rhythm of the music with any patrons.”

Still, the state’s Department of Business and Professional Regulation proceeded to file a complaint against the nonprofit that runs Plaza Live, claiming the venue had illegally exposed children to sexual content. The complaint, issued Feb. 3, seeks to strip the small, nonprofit theater of its liquor license — a serious blow that would likely put it out of business."

 

Interesting. I was unable to locate any named first person source, but, I haven't seen the video that's claimed to show much more than described in your link.

It's fake outrage, and it isn't about protecting kids. It's about hating on drag queens because they think they are icky. Not a single one of these Republicans are trying to make it illegal for a parent to bring their kid to a rated R movie.

 

So, you find drag queens acceptable? desirable?

 

I don't feel the need to say that people need my permission for basic first amendment expression, so yes, I find the first amendment acceptable. Why do you disagree?
