Sending them from one place to tiny communities somehow prevents illegal immigration......? Interesting thought, but doesn't pass the logic test.

They have Constitutional authority to process asylum seekers. Are you under the impression that they lack that authority?

    What's the difference?

One's a government policy, and the other is a critique of said government policy

It might have something to do with showcasing those who handle border policy who have private retreats in Martha's vineyard where they like to go and relax should have the problem dumped on their laps so that they actually have to you know do their job and properly shut down the border instead of declaring on high how virtuous they are by letting in any and everyone.

You see New York didn't realize it was a problem until the problem was bussed to them. So maybe we have to teach those who like to retreat to Martha's vineyard the same lesson

You live in Florida and you're not paying attention to what's going on and what the governor's doing with the Haitian illegals?

    https://www.flgov.com/2024/03/13/go...ial-influx-of-illegal-immigration-from-haiti/

Currently, state agencies have security and surveillance assets in South Florida and the Keys as a part of Operation Vigilant Sentry to stop illegal immigration at sea. The governor’s directive today will send additional personnel and assets from the following agencies:

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement: 39 additional officers.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission: 23 additional officers with eight additional seacraft.
The Florida National Guard: 48 additional Guardsmen with four additional helicopters.
The Florida Highway Patrol: 30 additional officers with an additional aircraft and drones for surveillance.

So.. they're clearly not the same thing. If a governor implements a bad policy, and then a citizen criticizes said policy... the idea that the citizen is by default demonstrating the same behavior as the governor, or that the citizen's actions are just as bad as the governor's actions is irrational.

It isn’t as if you’re making any kind of argument. You’re just deflecting.

    There is only one reason.

It’s a cynical political stunt to play to the flat earthers and bigots in Trump nation.

This is not a legitimate function of normal government, in any way, shape, or form.

Rounding up people off the street, secreting them away on a chartered aircraft, and dumping the unsuspecting on the unsuspecting. Is about as cynical and openly exploitive as one can get. You would think DiSanctimonious would think these people are sub human!

You didn't understand the question. How does sending Haitians from Florida to tiny communities in other States stop illegal immigration?

Who said it’s by default? You think this is the OPs first post on Ron DeSantis? LOL.

Amusing to see you try to defend someone with zero working knowledge of either the OP or me. Guess the word obsession really triggers you? Got some obsessive problems of your own you need to work out? I’m here to help

Martha’s Vineyard is a rich while liberal bastion. They escape to the island to isolate themselves from the problems they in fact support through donations and voting. Martha’s Vineyard is part of Massachusetts which is a sanctuary state. The Privileged Class living in the island are learning they are not immune. The Obama’s have a 3 million dollar home there. Now you know why Republicans are focusing on Martha’s Island.

Martha’s Vineyard is in Massachusetts which is a sanctuary state. Rich white liberals live there. They have the money to take care of the illegals and large homes to accommodate them.

You’re evil and bad, I’m righteous and good. Better make sure you take my worldview seriously and make good arguments against it or else omg you’re deflecting.

Or, you could understand that there’s no point trying to convince me otherwise of anything so you keep your observations of their infantile perspective short and concise.

By the way, it’s worth noting that your own response is not an argument but merely an opinion attached to an observation, exactly what mine is.

I’m sure the irony is completely lost on you

Oh, ok. So I was right, and common sense dictates that sending people who are already in US couldn't possible stop illegal immigration. How could it?

He is playing childish "stick it to the rich liberals" game, and he is doing it with taxpayer money. I thought he learned his lesson from his disastrous 2024 campaign, but it seems he did not.

How about ask the Feds to send them to facilities which have the capacity to handle them? Just an idea.

PS, There is no such thing as 'sanctuary state'.
