Alabama got into a twist because of a judge's ruling that an egg becomes a "human" as soon as it is fertilized - Ok, makes sense.
However, that ruling caused the state's IVF process to come to a grinding halt.

Instead of whining and screaming and crying. Alabama's legislature wrote and its governor signed a bill allow fertilized embryos to continue to be used for IVF.

Federalism in action, and a guiding light for other states, to structure their laws to suit the population of their state.
Guiding principle of our system: If you don't like current system, work to change it.

So now some fertilized eggs are people and some aren’t. Great job Alabama!

If embryos are people, does that mean - assuming they are frozen for many years - that age of consent rules date from when they were fertilised? So maybe a 4 year old is able to drink, smoke and get married? Or get a drivers licence?

    I disagree
This is the reason why: "to suit the population of their state". They (the justices) were elected, so who's doing the suiting, the legislature or the justices?

Primarily the legislature. As happened here. The court called fertilized embryos "a person" which then stopped its use in IVF. This was according to the existing law. The legislature convened, rewrote the statute to allow IVF, the Governor signed it.

The opinion was slightly more detailed than that. Seems like a better solution that the either of the alternatives

And in Missouri they want to pass a law that would make it a felony and put teachers in prison for decades if they so much as use a kid's preferred pronouns. That isn't federalism in action. That's fascism in action.

Hopefully it covers the discarding of zygotes, morulas and blastocysts at various stages of the IVF process either because they fail quality checks, fail genetic screening, or are excess and not needed for implantation.

What’s beautiful is that Alabama — one of the reddest most imbred impoverished religious states in the country just admitted that conception or fertilization is not when protections begin.

    We can build off that

Why do you call Alabama "inbred" and "impoverished"?

The justices made a ruling based on the law and precedent. The opposing argument recognized the law/precedent wasn't on their side, but said it would have negative effects on the population unless the state Supreme Court created an exception for them that the legislature did not provide them with. The SC said they are not the legislature and cannot do that. Then the legislature acted. This is precisely how this is supposed to work.

It's the role of a judge to impartially make rulings based on the LAW, not what you think is best for the population. This mentality is everything that is wrong with liberalism. This extreme partisanship has no boundaries and no respect for obeying the law. Disgusting.

Your record is broken. Believe it or not, not everything is about your hatred for Trump. The more ya know!

But congratulations on putting that Trump bleat on full display.

Trump was never "found to be a rapist:" or guilty of any other sexual assault crime.
