The Maunder minimum that caused the Little Ice Age lasted from 1645 to 1700 when 50 sunspots were recorded instead of the usual 40-50 thousand so the liberal horde better buy themselves some long haired dogs so that they can make a fur coats out of them.

BTW, during a Maunder minimum we will have low solar activity to power our solar energy toys and the wind will not be able to turn the liberal horde's will turbines.

30,000 scientists agree with you. Our planet has natural life cycles and this is one of them.

shhhhh don't quote history to the libs, prior to Michael Mann it was always 75 degrees and sunny. Only rained at night and the earth never had a hurricane or tornado before Henry Ford rolled the first model T off the line.

On the serious side I feel for my daughter and her family. On the positive side my son in law is a farm boy from upstate NY and a damn good marksman

If this is true, all hail nuclear energy.

We know how to absolutely cool the planet with sulfur particulates, but we do not know how to actually heat it. We are worried about the wrong problem thanks to Liberals.... again.

This is far more easier to believe and accept than the ridiculous theory of man made global warming.

We'll see if liberals are nondiscriminatory or partisan about this... They should be overjoyed to hear about it since global warming is the #1 threat to them.

Oh I hope this turns out to be true. I can't imagine a better egg in the face to leftists who have been harping on this carbon boogeyman, fear-mongering BS for so many years.

The ultimate karma... First Trump, then global cooling.

When Ontario decommissioned the coal plants the smog days in Toronto almost disappeared and temperatures have gone down half a degree Celsius so if you think man doesn't cause the earth to warm up you're oblivious to everything.

You didn't attack the data, but then half the data is over your head and the other half way, way over your head.

You all deny anything a scientist says unless you like it. We have 95% of the worlds scientist in agreement, but it you see one claim from one scientist in one report, you latch on like leeches. Such hypocrisy!!!

Ten years of cooling will not stop the long-term effects of climate change. But it could help to slow the progression. This could be great news for the children of the world. It could help to delay the disasters as we develop new technologies to replace fossil fuels and deal with the damage already done. It could slow rising sea levels and the mass migration of populations that will eventually come. The longer we have to deal with the effects of climate change, the better.

Most solar scientists are saying we are heading into a cooling period but under the current political climate are forced out of the mainstream.

Mini 'ice ages' don't change much, if anything. The overall long term trajectory of temps is upward. Climate scientists have long understood that there will be short periods of cool/cold.

Nuclear energy is scary. Look at Japan. If we built the right kind that COULD NOT result in catastrophes like this. I could get behind it.

Right now the only nuclear energy I support is the Newt-ron Bomb that just creamed Romney.

Gingrich mocks Romney for 'sucking up' to Trump

Mitt Romney’s groveling reminds Newt Gingrich of a scene from “Pretty Woman,” the former House speaker said Wednesday.

“There’s a scene in ‘Pretty Women,’ where Richard Gere goes up to the salesman on Rodeo Drive and says, ‘We need a little sucking up here,’” Gingrich said, recalling a scene from the 1990 romantic comedy.

“You have never, ever in your career seen a serious adult who’s wealthy, independent, has been a presidential nominee, suck up at the rate that Mitt Romney is sucking up,” Gingrich continued. “And I am confident that he thinks now that Donald Trump is one of his closest friends, that they have so many things in common, that they’re both such wise, brilliant people.”

Romney dined with Trump and incoming chief of staff Reince Priebus on Tuesday evening. Romney characterized his night as “a wonderful evening” and credited the president-elect for doing what he couldn’t do in 2012: Win.

Romney also sucked up to Trump’s transition effort, including his early Cabinet appointments, concluding his remarks by hailing Trump as “the very man who can lead us to that better future.”

Gingrich said he was sure Romney was “happy to share his vision of populism, which involves a little foie gras, a certain amount of, you know, superb cooking, but put that in a populist happy manner” at the dinner.

Romney, Trump and Priebus reportedly dined on sautéed frog legs, in addition to prime sirloin, lamb chops and chocolate cake.

“Luckily for them, Mitt speaks French fluently,” Gingrich said. “He could help them with the menu. He could say, ‘Ahh, Mr. President-elect, this would be the prefect le meal for you.’” (Romney served his Mormon mission in France.)

Gingrich, who has pushed for Trump to nominate Giuliani as secretary of state, said the choice is the president-elect’s to make and maintained that he’ll support his decision either way.

“But I would certainly say the fact that they keep it open — I mean, they know that every day that goes by the opposition to Romney grows,” Gingrich said. “I just got a good note from a friend of mine saying how deeply evangelicals will oppose Romney. So every day that they let this thing hang out there, I think it’s harder and more expensive to pick Romney.”

It would be “very interesting,” he added, if Trump “tests” the phrase “Romney for secretary of state” on his thank-you tour — which kicks off Thursday in Cincinnati.

“It would be very interesting to watch a Trump crowd respond because it would not be pretty,” he said.

    A joke perhaps?

I relish a mini ice age. My ideal vacation is spent below zero.

My recollection of TX is that where I lived there was a considerable cycle of about 11 years of drought and 2 or 3 wet years.

See that you guys! TRUMP is only a LICE for 24 days and he has already negotiated with the Chinese to
stop global warming and they are already Carrier-ing out his orders to stop global warming. I understand that Paul Ryan is preparing the Chinese Thank You Bill where Trump will pay the Chinese for stopping global warming.
