    snip

Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) on Wednesday announced a sweeping restructuring under recently reinstated CEO Bob Iger, cutting 7,000 jobs

    end snip

7,000 more folks hitting the bricks and this time it's Disney. It's not a "tech" company like we have seen Democrat voters make claims that it's tech companies.

Does it really matter if the cut jobs are shoveling crap or working in a NOC? 7k more folks now losing their situation.

I wonder if Chic Fil A, Starbucks and others have enough open positions to fill for these folks

What's with all these layoffs right after the Republicans take control of the House?
Exactly what I expected to happen, Republicans get elected to power, jobs are lost.
Republican voters are ruining this country with their poor economic plan.

DO yourself a favor and look at the price per gallon for fuel starting in March 2021. Then, look at inflation. They are related and thanks to your Democrat vote

It is cute what you are attempting and I find it humorous but, I'm sure the laid off find no comfort in what harmful, Democrat executive orders have caused

I hope he cuts the woke ones. Failing to do that could damage his company.

Only a billion in first quarter profits. Hope they can keep the lights on at Disneyland!

nobody cuts jobs in response to 1/3rd of government changing hands as a wild projection to legislation that hasn’t been passed.

    Get back under your bridge.

Just out of morbid curiosity, do you mean I'm a troll, or are you referring to me as a homeless person?

Does either answer change your pathetic use of 5 year old logic? If it does, go with that. But my guess is you’ll still run around thinking you are wildly clever correlating job losses with the 30 seconds republicans have been in power in the House

Since the job market is so bad, despite 50 year low in unemployment, are republicans going to propose extending unemployment benefits?

Wow. It looks like de Santis’ attacks on Disney might be having an effect. A negative effect.

    Way to go, Republicans!

Well, at least I was successful at bringing a slight bit of humor to your day!
    Crude Oil prices:

    Inflation since 2005:

There is a somewhat correlation. Looks like this latest trend barely began with Obama and a Democrat congress, then continued under Trump and a Republican congress, and then fluctuated somewhat with Biden and a Demo
Looks like this latest trend barely began with Obama and a Democrat congress, then continued under Trump and a Republican congress, and then fluctuated somewhat with Biden and a Democrat legislature.
Honestly, I don't see a clear case to be made that "Dem policy" leads to economic downturns.
In fact, a better case could be made that Democrat policies are better for the economy. I personally think neither party has a great impact, other factors have a much greater impact overall.

Anyway, that's my five cents (two cents adjusted for inflation!)

"pathetic use of 5 year old logic"? Oh, now you hurt my feelings, both of them!
I'll go with troll, and my only answer to that would be trolling begets trolling.
I was responding to a post by @sec, who seems perfectly capable of defending their position/remarks.
But I'm glad you felt the need to comment with attempted insults! You have added so much to the conversation! Congrats!

Really? Nobody would cut jobs based on the prospect of the House GOP extremists making the US government go to default? Really?

I am not saying that's the reason for the Disney job cuts. It could also be the continuous attacks on Disney by DeSantis. Or, they hired too many people in anticipation of the pandemic being over.

It is, however, funny that House Republicans get a pass, when Biden and the Dems were responsible for inflation the second they took control. Of course, that's how partisans roll, blame the other party for everything bad, while their own party is NEVER at fault.

I'm sure the 7000 serfs who just got kicked to the curb will be absolutely thrilled to hear that......and I'm suddenly seeing an investment opportunity in pitchfork and torch manufacturers...

The market has been begging people to take jobs for the past couple of years. Apparently too many of them responded to internet companies.
