The main difference between liberals and conservatives in relation to abortion has little to do with "socialism" IMO. This is not to say that the concept of untilitarianism "the collective good" does not relate to abortion.

In reality the ave person of either stripe does not have a clue what untilitarianism is.

The difference between parties is due to religious belief. The religious right tends to be conservative and this explains the difference.

No, you clown - the fatpigs at the trough are the RICH, as you well know, who have sold out human decency for slop. Who is Singer when he's at home? I - unlike you grovellers - am a follower of no-one, thank you very much.

I shall leave you to go home to Mom. Your toothy, freckled charm is beginning to grow tedious.

I have put some thought into why abortion is such a controversial issue: important personal rights are at stake, and the rights of the unborn baby are potentially in conflict with the rights of the ambivalent mother. I think the problem actually has roots that touch to the very foundations of morality; when one persons rights conflict with another's, how does society decide what should be done? When two lives are as intertwined as mother and unborn baby, what is the logical resolution of the personal rights conflict?

Does the "equal rights to each individual" principle suggest that we should flip a coin to see if individual pregnant mothers should be allowed to obtain an abortion, since obviously one of the two individuals rights have to be sacrificed?

    Lets skip the racist remark.
Abortion should be legal and free with no parental notification for ANY reason for any female of any age who wishes to have one.
