I personally am a Canadian who feels that if my ancestors had known what was really going on at the time we actually would have supported America, not England, in the American Revolutionary War.

We Canadians owe Americans an apology for how we behaved during Revolutionary War!
    (thread created April 13, 2013)

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...w-we-behaved-during-revolutionary-war.298013/

Secondly I would like to express my guilt/shame over the fact that my ancestors were gullible and obviously we bought into stories regarding the cause of the American Revolutionary War that were exaggerated and in many cases outright lies!

My last name is English through Northern Ireland..... we English aristocrats basically came up with a plan to keep the average American..... and Canadian.... and Brit..... running like the proverbial Gerbil on a treadmill.

Although Mr. Donald Trump was certainly in the top one percent of the top one percent of the USA population for wealth and influence back in 1988 - 1990..... he certainly had little control over the rate of interest that he was forced to pay to build the Taj Mahal.

Seriously? Canada should apologize for something that happened 100 or so years before Canada even existed?

Always somebody else to blame - wot?

No since Canada was still a British colony. Most our the US founders didn't want independence, much less war with Britain. All they wanted was to be treated as full British citizens, not as servants or ruffians. When the Brits only ratcheted up their abuses, we were left with no other option but to fight for our rights. Canada wasn't as developed as the colonies further south, containing less than 5% of the total number of British colonists living in North America. (1) Which also means they were not as affected by British abuses since they had so little to be abused.

The Americans want to conquer Canada, tried it once in the War of Independence (and failed), tried seven times in the War of 1812 (and failed).

An apology for the error of our ancestors may be the easiest way to
educate many Americans and Canadians to the truth of how the economies of the 13 colonies boomed from
1700 - 1750 and then how their economies went into decline after England
    initiated a highly unethical policy.

One of President Lincoln's advisors knew the history and was able to assist
President Abraham Lincoln to save American taxpayers FOUR BILLION DOLLARS
in interest payments. This aspect of our history is critical for our time period as well.

Canadians in the town of Truro, Nova Scotia seem to be facing a problem that is so big that they will need assistance from Florida, New Jersey, New York and Louisiana to solve it.

There is certainly no need for Canada to lose its independence over this though.

You do not owe us an apology for what happened in the distant past just like white Americans do not own black Americans any apologies for our ancestors actions.

I am a Theist who believes that Rabbi Judah ben Samuel was onto something extremely important to predict that 1917, 1967 and 2017 would be Jubilee Years.

I have the powerful feeling that we are about to witness one of the greatest economic miracles in the history of the world as humanity is somehow inspired to look at the problems in our central banking policies more objectively.

    We kind of have to.....
A gifted Christian was given a dream about a hurricane of money back in 2011..... I do not believe that the USA Dollar is going to be devalued but........ some pretty wise decisions will have to be made by President Trump and his team in order to prevent this from happening.

Our Prime Minister Stephen Harper publicly apologized to Canada's First Nations Communities for the Residential Schools system.

His apology was well received and was helpful in many important ways.

I have to admit that my motivation at this time to generate discussion about this is because I take the following theory seriously. I believe that President Donald J. Trump will respond wisely to this............. but it will make it easier for him and his team if Americans and Canadians are more well informed because the best answer that I can think of so far............. will scare many people who still belong to the church that I was in until 1991.

It seems to me that all that has to be done to prevent the USA Dollar from being devalued is to delay their arrival back in America... by months and in some cases years.... until the USA economy is ready to accept them in a productive manner........ such as a significant increase in real estate values in rural areas of America.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-fed-policy-pay-off-usa-national-debt.489825/

Could a real estate boom plus better Fed policy pay off USA national debt?
and... with the assistance of the nation of Israel......
we can theoretically raise up a "Beast" that will have a very Cyrus the Great / Medo - Persian flavour... where spirituality will receive greater respect than has been the case over these past decades.

Agreed. At what point do the children stop having to pay for the sins of their fathers? Does Britain owe us an apology for their atrocities and brutalities against American colonialists? It was the its and Dutch who started the slave trade. Shouldn't they apologize to everyone for it? Let's not forget those frickin' Eye-talians for running roughshod all over Europe back in the day!

LOL You post those like you know what they mean. Okay, now go ahead and explain exactly why you believe it's "Fallacies of false equivalency and confirmation bias" or just let it go and everyone will know you just sling those words against ideas you dislike.

I do, and you clearly don't. Now explain, since you made the claim, why they are not. You can't. Your logic is fakery, Max, and you know it.

Your claim of affirmation. Get to it.

You are free to think as you please, sir. It should be obvious to all that all you've done is make a claim of "false equivalency" and when asked to prove it, you turned to making it about me.

The fact remains it is wrong to make the younger generations pay for the sins of their ancestors. Spin it however you like, it's still wrong.

On one level it seems that an intelligence that is beyond our comprehension has
arranged a type of justice in the universe / Multiverse that is indeed better than
any apologies but............... perhaps sincere apologies can decrease something that
a Buddhist, Hindu, Chassidic Jew or Gnostic Christian might term......"negative karma?"

In Max's defence .... in another discussion he termed himself a Gnostic Christian,
that is one valid term for what I am as well... .so he knows fully what I mean by my reply in post #22, it
is just that he disagrees with it and believes it is better if people groups who have suffered
persecution in the past and been the brunt of unfair treatment..... just get over it and move on.

There is indeed a lot to be said for that approach.

But considering that all money at this time is created as a "debt" one of our options
now is to create a debt.... .in such a way that we avoid the mathematical problem of
un-repayable debt levels that are created by compound interest over time.

    www.BankingSystemFlaws.blogspot.ca/

Some people feel that our artistic freedom.......
may be one of our last freedom's to be lost at this time.

It is equivalent in that it is apologizing for actions of our ancestors.
