The Western view is that the two sides are democracy and authoritarian control and if you are for democracy you are on the right side of history. The Russian view is that democracy is preferable but the two sides are stability and chaos and if you are on the side of stability you are on the right side of history. Whether with good intentions or not, so far the Western view has caused tremendous chaos in the modern world. So which is the right view?
Democracy is messy but, if done correctly, allows for individual liberty. Iron-fisted tyranny ensures stability at the expense of individual liberty. It is desirable to the tyrants and unwanted -- if there is a chance to think about it -- by the populace. Democratic Republicanism is the proper choice. Autocracies often allow voting.
Would that it were that simplistic. Most Western government are increasingly totalitarian, and it is that authoritarian streak, that inhabits and in fact lies at the core of large bureaucratic states, like it or not, that is producing the chaos.
Nah, he's just promoting the Russian agenda like any good trumpster. You have to wonder why the hell they're still living in the US. Probably to sow instability and please their Kremlin masters.
For one thing, lots of people around the world don't have a clue as to what "democracy" really means. To many people it effectively means "one man, one vote.....once" with the implication that just because one side wins an election that it is "entitled" to do whatever it wants. A better definition would be "in a democracy, it is safe to lose an election".
