This may be the right solution to this racism/police brutality problem.

Should it make sense for police to totally withdraw from Black cities and towns altogether?

 

I vote yes. In the current political environment I would argue there is no point in a cop losing their freedoms by having to defend against or detain this demographic that is statistically more violent. Why take the added risk? If they want a community of unchecked crime, let them have it.

If anything, cities should be hiring more officers and assigning more officers to high crime areas. They should also do more ongoing training, and do more to develop their leaders.

So....black communities don't get police officers? I do believe that most want police officers. The ACTIVIST don't..but pretty sure residents in those communities aren't wanting undeterred crime on their doorstep..

Put black cops in black neighborhoods. The black cops probably won’t like it but it will stop all the racist bullshit spewed by the cop hating left.

 

If I am standing on my front porch or walking down my street and a police officer drives my I give them a friendly wave and thank you for swinging through. All I have seen for the last few years is leaders in black cities and communities bitch and moan about police and how they need to cut way back on them. I don't see any support they offer the police. Why not grant their wish?

 

They'll just be called Uncle Tom's by the black "leadership".

 

About NOT stopping crime not about actually trying to stop it.

It's nice out here in the country. Plenty of room for ya. Plenty of good manufacturing jobs around. Lots of money available for training. Come on over.

Most discussion in forums and in the media are framed in polarized options. This unwise and unhelpful method causes people to embrace yes or no, dot or dash,
democracy or tyranny, etc... choice. This is grossly inadequate and panders to the simple-minded who do not have a lot of information for analysis and therefore
see issues in a simplistic choice manner. Society is experiencing enormous challenges and problems which require long analysis, experimentation, political
revolution, re-distribution of wealth, and other changes which require a long period of adjustment and trial and error. For example, we know that policing is too violent in the USA compared to other developed countries, for example, but that doesn't equate to simplistic choices. It requires re-forming departments, breaking police unions,
re-indoctrinating officers to become "peace officers," instead of enforcers, and hiring a lot more college-educated officers who are able to make better choices about
what and how to apply the law instead of lockstep obedience and knee-jerk reactions. This will take a lot of time and effort, and it needs to be explained properly and
in a non-threatening manner so that conservatives can comprehend the benefits of the changes and accept them. It will not be easy, and frankly, I do not expect
to see the reform in my lifetime, because the conservative extremists in this country are maybe now 33% of the population. In fact, the national police association actually embraced a known malignant narcissist who made ridiculous, false, insulting and ignorant remarks during his campaign and actually and endorsed him for President. Can you imagine? Why would any thinking adult support police who would place such a hideous man in office? What are they themselves like one must ask, to choose a human monster for a President? This is what society is up against. Good luck to the young people who are eager to break this ridiculous system and to construct a better society. BUT, you must all stop seeing things as either black or white, good or bad. Issues cannot be framed in polar opposite choices. AND, stop listening to uneducated poorly informed people on websites who think they have the right to express opinions which should be accepted as reasonable. It takes years of learning and study and formal education, plus the ability to utilize critical thinking skills in order to form reasonably valid opinions which should be considered. Psychologists estimate that about 30% of you don't have the ability to properly analyse the information you receive, so listen and support the better informed and better educated and stop listening to the idiots and crazies who have been empowered by you know who. The population must stop drinking the Kool Aid and return to respect for people with advanced education and more knowledge and skills. The best and brightest must lead us, not the trolls on the websites who embrace stupid and sometimes evil ideas

That happens after the fact anyway. After Travon Martin Sanford fired it's white police chief and promoted a black guy into the position, and after Ferguson the town fired it's white police chief and hired a black guy.

The problem is, there are not enough Black police officers to police Black areas. Police Departments go after Black recruits like crazy but can't get enough of the ones qualified to take the positions. If you are Black and qualify to become a police officer, there are much better options available to you.

 

Are you including the black chief of police, black captains, black lieutenants, black sergeants and black police officers?

The black mayor would like to know.
