No. I don't believe in superstition or man made folk tales. Those are the reasons muslims and christians been killing each other for thousands of years since both those religions were invented.

Are you saying with no religion there would be no conflict in the world?

    This is the question.
    A simple question.
The question is not: "Who is responsible for all the misery in this world?"

There would be. Just not over religion. One less thing to cause conflict.

Because Reddit Atheists and Vegans are two of the most evangelical groups in the world and can't wait to tell you all about their quaint beliefs.

Given the cost and value of the nativity set, who would put one under the tree? Mine is on a sideboard.

don't need religion to celebrate the federal holiday known as Christmas

you do know Jesus was not said to be born on Christmas right.... so what are you celebrating?

I think Christmas is a good experience for a child to learn to seek the truth on their own - without Santa, there would be no Christmas

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas

"Modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, church celebrations, and the display of various decorations—including the Christmas tree, lights, mistletoe, nativity scenes and holly. Santa Claus (also referred to as Father Christmas, although the two figures have different origins) is a popular mythological figure often associated with bringing gifts at Christmas. Santa is generally believed to be the result of a syncretization between St. Nicholas of Myra and elements from pagan Nordic and Christian mythology, and his modern appearance is believed to have originated in 19th century media.

Christmas is celebrated throughout the Christian population, but is also celebrated by many non-Christians as a secular, cultural festival. The holiday is celebrated around the world. Because gift-giving and several other aspects of the holiday involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, Christmas has become a major event for many retailers."

What culture, at least in the northern hemisphere, hasn't had a celebration this time of year? Were you honestly unaware that seasonal celebrations are kind of a thing in human culture?

Indeed, but the poster specified the Federal holiday of Christmas, not some winter solstice. Were you honestly unware of what the poster wrote in the comment that you are attempting to defend?

They said secular. Lots of people have secular celebrations this time of year. Were you honestly unaware of this fact and what are you attempting to belittle?

That's true. I've never seen anyone put the nativity scene under the tree. But, hey, maybe that's just because so many families have cats.

are you a vegan? not the best for your health you know... seventh day Adventist are the ones that brought us veganism and replaced eggs and bacon with breakfast cereal - but what does that have to do with the topic?
