    I hold that it does.

They are fantastically wealthy and own entire industries including the media and fund political parties.

Even though the average citizen has the right to vote, the choice of who or what he can vote for is often decided by someone else. Also the media guides public opinion and hence can directly influence the way people vote.

Also the people in the Ruling Class know exactly what they are doing and work together as a team as part of a well thought out game plan.

I don't think the UK has a "ruling class" any more or less than any other country .
Can I call it the "influential" class?
Wealthy people in touch with powerful people who can afford to toss in a few spare millions into someone's stableyard will always hold the reins.
It is something you just have to live with because there is no fighting back (other than if a law has been broken).
I am not sure there is a well thought out plan or that they work as a team. You are getting close to the Bilderberg Group there.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderberg_meeting

More fun is the number of conspiracies about taking over the planet (or whatever it is at the time) associated with it.

    https://newworldorderinternal.weebly.com/the-bilderberg-group.html

Other conspiracies involve lizards, David Icke, Nazis, Jews and other usual suspects.

    That counts as an admission.

I see. So you are not sure whether they have a well thought out plan or not, but they may do. What could be clearer?

I don't know why you are referring to the Bilderbergs as the Bilderbergs DO ACTUALLY exist and are not just a figment of people's imaginations. But I wasn't even thinking of the Bilderbergs anyway who are European and not a purely British phenomena.

I didn't even mention anything about "taking over the planet", I was simply referring to what was happening within the UK.

    Thank you for you reply.
I won't bother again, as clearly you prefer to comment on my proximity to your rather over generalised, foggy question as I suggested that in fact such propositions as yours have been part of concerns about the Bilderberg Group for many years. It may be "international" but it has included many British "influencers" and since entire industries, media and financial institutions in the UK are in fact global (and that any of these solely with the UK don't have enough power to influence just it, they have to be international,) Bilderberg was originally set up to be primary "influencers" in the Western world, including the USA.
However mention of the group was merely a random comparison to what you are asking about. The answer I gave is contained within the first line of my post.
That is all your question deserved.
    Have a nice day.

A little bit touchy aren't we?

As far as I'm concerned the Bilderbergs are little more than a distraction. What I'm thinking of is a tradition far older than that.

In the UK we often talk of "they", the "they" being an upper echalon who lead the way and we (the rest of us) follow suit. In fact we have been conditioned to think this way over many generations. People often subconsciously forget it's a democracy.

Did your fellow Brits appoint you their spokesperson? No, so you can quit with the "we."

My reference to Bilderberg had little to do with what I think is the current situation in the UK.
I did say that (rather playfully) that the situation could be made to sound like th Bilderberg Group , possibly the ultimate collection of international movers and shakers but which is also referred to by conspiracy theorists as something deliberately designed to subjugate the Little Man. Which was, IIR, the issue you mentioned in your OP.
NOw to your In the UK we often talk of "they", the "they" being an upper echalon who lead the way and we (the rest of us) follow suit. In fact we have been conditioned to think this way over many generations. People often subconsciously forget it's a democracy.

Whether the UK is a democracy or not does not contradict the existence of "a social elite". The very first whispers of a democracy in the UK's Magna Carta was applicable only to the "elite" and while I know that the current social hierarchy exists in name only, democracy does not define that hierarchy.

Do I think there is a social hierarchy. Yes.
Do I think it holds the country in its clutches, no.
Not until the Commons is subservient to the Lords.
Do I think the rich hold sway over the political class? Sometimes.
Do I think this is justified? Depends on who is profiting from such influences.
ie Marcus Rashford is rich...children who got to receive free school lunches in holiday time profited.
But PPE equipment contracts went to those who had influence. BOTH they and medical staff profited.
Some lord who has a museum in his huge house and got his own driveway mended on the strength of it? No.

Your question is not a simple one. Is it?

I will however suggest that if you went to the same school(s) as the Prime Minister, you have a great head start.

But as you apparently freely admit, you don't even live in Britain. So how do you know what it's like living here and being British?

Presumably you live in the US. But even in the US there are the beginnings of a ruling class. A certain wealthy US family owns and controls government think tanks who in turn decide US government policy.

My point stands, regardless of nationality or any familiarity with the UK. And I note you're heading down a conspiracy rabbit hole. Not interested lol.

FACT: David Rockefeller ran the Council on Foreign Relations.

FACT: Hillary Clinton, when she was in government, stated in public that she was simply doing what the Council on Foreign Relations was telling her.

If you enjoy making 2+2=5, there's a conspiracy section...somewhere. Never visit it myself.

What I have said is based upon hard facts. If you choose to close your eyes or look the other way, that's up to you.
