Does the cost of gasoline matter in deciding not to waste money going to see guys playing in a female game?
Good point...... political correctness is killing women's sports. For the record.. BigMedia is not actually on the side of the LGBTQ or Trans community...... they are setting them up as sacrificial PAWNS in order to bring the USA and Canada and all democratic nations through Cultural Civil War.
I tend to mow my grass less often and don't mow all of it at once when it is over $3 but it isn't like it would even make a blip in my budget. It is more a mental hurdle I guess. Having a few acres, I don't need much of an excuse to only mow around the house every week to keep the code-enforcement nazis happy. They really can't see the rest readily.
Democrats to bring in the Stage Act to give places money because they are woke and nobody goes to see them because of that. STAGE Act, Aimed at Saving Non-Profit Theatres, Introduced in Congress | Playbill
$3 gasoline is pretty cheap. I'd like to see gasoline taxed more to truly pay for the roads, and stop robbing the General Fund (Sales Tax Revenue) for that purpose. People who don't drive cars, such as bicyclists, shouldn't have to pay high taxes for roads.
After I retired, the number of miles I drive plummeted, so, I don't pay much attention to the price of gasoline. But it's likely that all those unfortunate people who must do a lot of driving (and already struggle just to make the minimum payments required on their credit card bills) will care -- a LOT. Work hard, save your money, don't do anything stupid, and then retire as early as possible!
Gasoline is now cheap in America. Look at the prices in the mid-2000s. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/04/13/how...usted) 2006: $2.64 ($3.83 inflation-adjusted) A gallon of gas was 65 cents in 1978—here’s how much it cost every year since 2005: $2.34 ($3.53 inflation-adjusted) 2006: $2.64 ($3.83 inflation-adjusted) 2007: $2.85 ($4.05 inflation-adjusted) 2008: $3.32 ($4.52 inflation-adjusted) 2009: $2.40 ($3.27 inflation-adjusted) 2010: $2.84 ($3.77 inflation-adjusted) 2011: $3.58 ($4.67 inflation-adjusted) 2012: $3.70 ($4.69 inflation-adjusted) 2013: $3.58 ($4.47 inflation-adjusted) 2014: $3.43 ($4.22 inflation-adjusted) Other countries pay much more for gas than us. And that's because we favor the oil industry with a lot of direct and indirect subsidies.
Yes, I'm retired, and I have a seven and a half year old car with 45,000 miles on it. Since my wife's parents died, her mileage is down too. Still paying $4.50 a gallon as to hurt. It's got to really be bad for people who have to commute to work.
Other countries don't have wide open spaces with lots of miles. Public transit is not efficient for that.
Right. Lot of people are natural born pessimists and they always see the negative in everything. Its a tough place to be.
High gas prices will hurt the incumbent president and his party, and it will be very difficult to get them down before the election.
Truthfully, I hope it goes up beyond five bucks a gallon. And, it actually may by the time these Democrat masterminds get through ****ing with everything in our lives....
The trouble is they want it that high and higher AFTER the election. That way they will have more leverage to force people into EVs. They are too dumb to realize that electric rates will go up too. Obama bragged about electric rates were going to go up during presidency. He was proud of it. He’s got enough money to have mansions in Hawaii and Martha’s Vineyard so he doesn’t care. Let the “little people” eat cake. His mind is clear. He gave them Obama care.
Yes, the modern Democrat Party -- far from being a political organization that looks out for the best interests of tax-paying, self-supporting, loyal American workers, is now little more than a collection of American 'oligarchs' whose mantra is "Do as I say to do -- don't do as I do!"
Late election cycle sex smears haven't hurt presidential candidates for decades, and for Trump stories like that are very old "news". DJTs enemies should hire better political advisors.
We have alot of bicyclists using our roads..clogging up traffic. Our downtown just invested in bike lanes. Bicyclist should not be exempt and btw they should follow traffic laws as well. But the don't. Anyway I digress.
In oklahoma we don't mind higher gas prices so much. Means jobs and pay raises across all tiers of jobs in our abundant oil industry. For a place like CA high prices are probably more devastating for families and the economy.
Bicyclists are responsible for near-ZERO wear and tear on the roads. If you check the funding for your roads, I'm fairly certain you'll find that a lot of the money comes out of the General Fund, which is Sales Tax revenue. So bicyclists are paying for roads, and much more than their proportianate wear and tear. I agree that bicyclists should follow the laws.
