Trump's problems with the law go beyond the investigations being conducted by the DOJ.

CNN reports, "The Atlanta-area special grand jury investigating whether former President Donald Trump and his allies violated the law in their efforts to overturn the 2020 election has completed its work, according to a new court filing.

“Given the special purpose grand jury’s delivery of its final report, the undersigned’s recommendation, and the Superior Court bench’s vote, it is the ORDER of this court that the special purpose grand jury now stands DISSOLVED,” Judge Robert McBurney, who has been overseeing the Fulton County special grand jury investigation, wrote in Monday’s short court order.

"Special grand juries in Georgia are not authorized to issue indictments. But the panel will issue a final report that serves as a mechanism for the special grand jury to recommend whether Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should pursue indictments in her election interference investigation. Willis will then go to a regularly empaneled grand jury to seek indictments."

Why have we allowed the Republican Party's rural voters, mostly educationally challenged farmers and rural shopkeepers in the southern states, to put our country in this precarious position?

These Republican voters chose Trump in 2016. Aided by Vladimir Putin, Trump was elected President. We have had nothing but grief ever since. Thank God we now have a President who quietly does his job, no fanfare, no conspiracies, and no controversies.

Here is a brief review of the troubled former Republican President. Incidentally, Trump is the Republican Party leader and the only Republican candidate for the Presidency in 2024. This is what the Republican Party's rural voters want. They don't talk much, though.

CNN reports, "This must feel like the year that won’t end for former President Donald Trump, whose actions appear to be catching up with him in painful and expensive ways.

"Trump is infamous for escaping accountability, but he’s been put under the microscope in the second half of 2022 in a way that has complicated things for the 2024 contender.

"The FBI searched his Florida resort, where stolen classified documents were seized. His business was found guilty of criminal tax fraud. Documents relating to his tax returns were released by House Democrats, who are expected to release his actual returns before turning over the committee gavel next year to Republicans, who won a smaller-than-expected majority under Trump’s influence. Many candidates Trump backed failed in key Senate races, costing Republicans a majority in that chamber.

"The former president himself hasn’t been charged with any crimes. But a special counsel has been appointed at the Justice Department to oversee two Trump-related investigations – surrounding the hoarding of documents at Mar-a-Lago and inciting the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol."

In the meantime, the forum's Republicans, true to form, have remained totally silent when it comes to the specific issues.

    They can't handle them?

Did Trump incite the far-right extremist groups to attack our capitol? You decide.

“We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong.”
“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you are allowed to go by very different rules."
“We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
"Now it is up to Congress to confront this egregious assault on our democracy. And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you. We are going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

CNN reports, "A federal judge ruled Wednesday that prosecutors can use video of then-President Donald Trump telling the far-right group the Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” in the trial against several of the group’s leaders charged with seditious conspiracy.

"District Judge Timothy Kelly said that the former president’s comments showed “an additional motive to advocate for Mr. Trump (and) engage in the charged conspiracy” to keep Trump in power.

"During a presidential debate in 2020, Trump was asked by moderator Chris Wallace if he would condemn white supremacists and militia groups. Democratic candidate Joe Biden interjected and specifically mentioned the Proud Boys.

"Proud Boys – stand back and stand by,” Trump responded. “But I’ll tell you what. I’ll tell you what. Somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not a right-wing problem.”

"The comment, according to prosecutors and members of the Proud Boys who testified publicly to the House select committee investigating January 6, was celebrated by the far-right group and was used as a recruiting tool," ABC.

It is unlikely the forum's Republicans will respond. After all, what can they possibly say? Trump is innocent of wrongdoing?

Trump was never known for his brain power. As a Presidential candidate, what a really stupid thing to say, but the intelligence challenged rural voters in the Republican Party voted for him anyway. It's who they wanted for President.
