Actually, Trump misrepresented this. The agreement was that Un agreed to "work toward" a nuclear agreement in return for the US withdrawing military support and protection for S.K. and other details. IOW Trump, the "greatest negotiator ever" gave away the farm for an agreement Un would think about it. What a friggin loser.

Obama didn't meet with Un but when he said he might, the right went BALLISTIC and savaged him mercilessly for it. Now their Boy in Chief does far worse and they praise him. The hypocrisy is thick.

Think of the BS here. You speculate a fantasy about Obama, and you call "hypocrisy" on the basis of your own fantasy to hide the REAL hypocrisy of the right. Egad.

Your bold wording does not say "the immediate threat has been removed, and a path to a different relationship has been started". If you can't see that, no conversation is possible with you.

In the first place no threat was removed except for the threat of US troops protecting S.K. against N.K.

Perhaps I missed it. What "right-wingers" have said they believe Kim Jong-un?

Like the President, I know I have my eyes wide open. That's a reasonable place to start.

Beats the left-wingers screaming with eyes shut tight.

Do you really think saying "Having met with Kim, wouldn't it be fair to say that immediate threat has been removed, and a path to a different relationship has been started?" reflects having eyes wide open? LOL!!!

The words I bolded contain the following:

"safer than the day I took office"
Having now met with Kim face to face, signed a letter of commitment between the two nations, do you think people should feel safer now than when the President took office?

Of course you can join the others on the hard left who are trying to suggest the President meant the Nuclear threat from NK is gone forever. That would be foolish to say, and I know it is a requirement for membership to adopt that absurd belief.

Got TDS much? I suppose you don't remember Obama kissing Castro's butt?

Anyway, just because their missiles can't hit anything now doesn't mean they never will. Technology marches on. Besides, there are other factors. NK has over 1 million men in their military with almost all of them staring across the DMZ at 30,000 Americans and about 600,000 South Korean military. I recently saw a thing on TV about a North Korean soldier that escaped to the South and was shot a couple of times as he made a run for it. While he was in the hospital, they found that he had intestinal worms from a poor diet. Now, consider that the North Korean military gets the good stuff and best food before the general population and you might start to see that something is wrong over there that might be pushing things to collapse. Now, would a collapse go against Kim or would it be against South Korea? Could it possibly be that Trump has taken a step to open the minds of Kim and his generals to a brighter possibility?

North Korea is a huge, undeveloped land between two roaring economies. The potential for wealth for North Korea is off the charts. We could, finally, end the war and bring our troops home. And, all you can do is piss on Trump.

I wouldn't even say an immediate threat has been removed. This same tactic has been used for over 30 years and maybe now they are actually ready to use a nuclear weapon.

After screaming hysterically that "Trump is starting a nuclear war with North Korea", now the same lying left is screaming about Trump making real progress in denuclearizing them.

I'm sure that the American voters are fooled by this EASILY RECALLED and proven LIESPEAK DOUBLE TALK.....

Let's see: so NOW, the Leftocrats support illegals over Americans, MS-13, Iran, raising taxes, the US being charged outrageously unfair tariffs by the EU, China and Canada, men in women's restrooms, and a NUCLEAR ARMED NORTH KOREA.

Now there's a "winning platform".... :roflol:

If NOKO does what they are supposed to, OF COURSE the sanctions will be lifted, as opposed to the Obamidiot deal with Iran, in which we CANNOT INSPECT MILITARY SITES for nuclear weapons development.

The left gets more childishly silly every day...

You are right by saying that we should not count our chickens before they hatch, but it also may be too early to flap and cluck about it.

Ever think that maybe the point of Kim going along with this dog and pony show was to give the illusion of safety...

And Trump just took the bait and drove it home.

I give it an 50% chance that Kim is repeating what his father did 30 years ago but knowing that Kim really likes the attention and likes the Western lifestyle I have hope that he would be willing to give up his nukes for more parties and more celebrity status.

In the end the person that is most responsible for this might just end up being Dennis Rodman.

Of course I do. I wouldn't have written that if I didn't mean it.

Do you think Kim, in front of the eyes of the world, would meet with President Trump under the pretext of finding a path forward, and then go back to NK and launch a nuclear attack?

Trump just couldn't leave it at we will see how this goes. He just had to go that one extra step and over blow and undermine everything he just did.

No. I'm pretty pragmatic about things. I'm not driven by politically driven emotions.

You think NK is going to launch a nuke at someone, and this dog and pony show, as you put it, was just to mask preparations for it?

Keep in mind Kim may just be the puppet just like Trump is Putin's puppet. Someone close to him may not want to denuclearize. There is a lot.more to this than Donald Dump meeting with him

I actually don't think NK would launch a nuke but I don't think they are gonna be willing to give them up either.

Weirder things have happened in history and NK doesn't exactly.have a stellar record.of diplomacy

I don't think the President pays much attention to how people on the left will respond to the dog whistles their media has trained them to follow.

I agree with you on your point about agreements and diplomacy. Eyes wide open going forward, as the President said multiple times.

This is new territory unlocked after 70 years of failure following the old recipe.

Who knows how rocky the road will be going forward. I expect it to be rocky. And I hope for everyone, it keeps going forward despite that possibility.

North Korea has been threatening the USA for 70 years ???

Just another example of cultural-marxism revisionist history.

The first time North Korea ever threaten the USA was in 2017.

Now North Korea has been threatening South Korea for 68 years.
