If he testifies he runs the risk of perjuring himself under oath.

My Lawyers Got Trump to Admit 30 Lies Under Oath
Trump sued me, then had to acknowledge 30 times during a deposition that he had lied over the years about a wide range of issues.

If he refuses to testify when called by the plaintiff he runs another kind of risk.

    1. In civil litigation in federal court, a witness’s invocation of the Fifth Amendment may give rise to an adverse inference “when independent evidence exists of the fact to which the party refuses to answer.”

My understanding of adverse inference when a judge is deciding the outcome of a civil case is the judge typically accepts evidence from the plaintiff as unchallenged.

He says he's going to testify. The best case scenario from the country's standpoint would be for him to perjure himself and be found guilty. Resulting in.........an appeal of course. But when all is said and done his biz in NY is likely to be done too.
