I'm no longer a fan of the pro's.

I enjoy the outlaws and drag radial cars but am no fan of 1/8 mile

Lots of tracks went to the eighth mile because so many cars were blowing up at the big end.
And alot of 275 cars were finding the guardrail. Too much power, too little tire, too little talent.
I guess they remember all the 10.5 cars that crashed at the Orlando meet a few years ago. Trying to go 7s on a little tire is just asking for trouble.
At least at the 1/8th they are not going so fast as they cant reel it in if they get out of the groove.
And doing it on modified stock suspensions is even just adding fuel to the fire.
There was also alot of unsanctioned 1/8th mile tracks all over the south that wanted to get in the act of the Grudge match racing circut. Which is little more than a bar fight at a track.
Doorslammers is where its at, but they need to make the cars more drivable.

but 1/8 gives the edge to nitrous cars vs the TC and SC cars which ran them down on the big end. They are running consistent high 5's in Vegas and the TC cars rule the roost.
