I don't care if you eat meat. You apparently are unable to understand the point I am making. I am not making an argument for being a vegan I am making a point about killing animals for personal enjoyment. How you can't figure this out is amazing. Focus.
yeah and unlike others who are afraid to admit to their natural killer instincts I'm no hyprocrite and I will tell you. Yes, I enjoy the killing of animals. It is instinctual, enjoyable, and you don't have any right to denigrate me or any other hunter for it. There is nothing immoral about killing animals. The only question is environmental and current laws and regulations are plenty strict enough to not only protect, but expand sport animal populations.
SM, I never said there was no skill involved. That is something you made up in your mind because you being defensive and needed a strawman. Secondly, I never tried to deny you you're rights. You being a drama queen. Finally, there was no doubt in my mind that you would kill animals for personal enjoyment.
I'm not a duck hunter but I do enjoy keeping my Native American heritage alive and well. I also take great pride in providing the healthiest meat that is as free of man's contamination of hormones as possible. I do not enjoy the actual killing and prefer so much more the scouting, planning and chase that comes before a successful hunt that ends with a well placed arrow. From the beginnings that my family has enjoyed to the introduction of firearms via the Scott side of my family, I consider all that I do "fair chase" and a commandment of God to 'MANAGE' the fruits of the earth (be it the same thing a vegan may eat....that I have grown to the buck I arrow this coming Oct.). There are more game species with higher numbers and a healthier gene pool thanks to the CONSERVATION that comes through the sport of hunting and from the legal harvesting of animals that feed many families who need it. Besides, I thought this was supposed to be a non-political forum where those who enjoy certain things can come to fellowship without the idiots coming out of the woodwork. NOTE: [Discuss anything not related to politics which doesn't have its own forum. (Many topics are getting their own). Discuss holidays, travel, hobbies, etc] I find it strange that this has not been brought up and am annoyed at the ignorance that some have when it comes to a culture (MY CULTURE) that helped form this GREAT Nation. Their ignorance is astounding and they know little of the American way of life where a need to harvest/KILL or raise their own food or PROTECT their families by means of weapons (be it bow or firearm) when cops *(or grocery stores are far and costly). It is so costly to wait or rely on a cop that takes only minutes to help when seconds count. No...mr. DUMB@$$, you consume your hormone polluted 'veggies' or meats and I'll raise my relatively clean and natural garden harvest or consume my tasty venison that God intended for me to enjoy.
And YES, I realize that this was an old post but what I said had to be said. In no way was I going to leave this thread to a post of ignorance that derailed a thread that was one for fellowship purposes by those who live a totally different life to those who haven't a clue as to how REAL Americans live and how this Nation was formed by those who love the wilderness and only desire to fit in to the Spirit of the wild. Besides, I was planning to start a new thread with the coming bow season at hand and I'm sure I would have the same folks try and derail my thread as well. They are haters who are so displeased and incomplete with their own lives that they would hope to drag the rest of us down to the miserable existence that they are forced to live.
Ah yes, it is that time again. I went out last weekend with a few friends, only to be treated to the madhouse of the public refuge on opening weekend. It was hot, the ducks were not flying, and the hunting sucked. I got 4 over two days. I went out last Wednesday and managed to do this while solo. 3 gaddies, a cinnamon teal, a wigeon, and a greenhead. An awesome day all around. The ducks were flying, my shots were accurate, and I had the time of my life.
