    :omg:
The African Ebola outbreak that shows no sign of slowing
April 23,`14 ~ Last week, officials in Guinea expressed optimism. The outbreak of Ebola that had spread into Liberia and beyond appeared to be waning. The number of deaths, which had then numbered 106, had slowed. Travel restrictions had been bolstered. The outbreak, which had sent waves of panic across West Africa, finally seemed under control.

You missed a detail in the article, which is something I do from time to time, but try not to. Notice the number of health care workers who have died. If it were so easy to stop Ebola, health care workers would not be contracting it from patients.

The CDC report thinks that there are at least three animals involved, the bats, primates, and duikers, a small antelope. Africans eat monkeys and antelopes, as well as fruit bats. Some time ago I read that the problem isn't eating the animal after it is cooked, but the exposure to the blood by a cook who is preparing the meat before it is cooked.

PRAYERS, PRECAUTIONS IN W AFRICA AMID EBOLA THREAT
Jun 10,`14 -- One preacher advocated fasting and prayer to spare people from a virus that usually leads to a horrible death. Some people pray that the Ebola outbreaks, which are hitting three countries in West Africa, stay away from their home areas. Others seem unruffled and say it will blow over.
