Joke away ... Western Media has always proven to be telling lies? Well ... they do often, but always? Isn't it more the point that they are lying for you or others if the reports are not comfortable?
This blaming of lies in Western Media is often only a ridiculous BS propaganda game! Funny was in the past for example that "Anti Westerns" quote the German "Spiegel" as serious source for something, but next time when their countering party named "Spiegel" for another issue as serious source ... it was suddenly by the "Anti Westerns" an irrelevant source!

All the media, including Russia engage in propaganda. If I'm watching RT this is obvious. It is equally obvious when I'm watching the BBC, Sky News or read any of the British or US press. This is not to say that those newspapers and broadcasters who pump out endless propaganda don't also produce some excellent and insightful stories too. It's a case of learning to attune yourself to the propaganda M.O., -- most often unsubstantiated grubby stories that are exceedingly short on facts and evidence and very long on rhetoric.

For me this thread, started by Litwin who seems to hate everything Russian is understandably unbalanced. Let's remedy that.

One of the best known US journalists is Carl Bernstein,a Pulitzer prize winner, who co-broke the Nixon era Watergate story that ultimately saw Nixon resign to avoid impeachment. In 1977 he wrote a 25,000 word cover story for Rolling Stone magazine that set out the CIA's control of the media through place men, sympathetic journalists and greedy journalists. In the UK, one of the better journalists, Richard Norton-Taylor penned a piece revealed that 500 prominent Brits - including 90 journalists - were employed by the CIA. The Daily Torygraph journalist, Roy Greenslade, once noted that "most tabloid newspapers - or even newspapers in general - are playthings of MI5," which is interesting given the Bellylaugh's own close relationship to the boys at Vauxhall Bridge. Thus, in the last analysis, press independence and freedom is really no different to western democracy ---- just a cover story to mislead ordinary people into saying "yes" when required, or "no" as required. Other than that they are left to return to a nice, safe state of perpetual sleep.

This being the case the opening post of this thread was simply a US propaganda story funnelled through the trusted source, Al Jazeera in Qatar, the headquarters of the Pentagon's CENTCOM.

There are shades of grey, and while the British/US media propagandizes to a certain extent, the non-western media in many/most cases (al jazeera, RT, IRNA) are so fraudulent as to be nearly useless.

I disagree. The western press are masters of propaganda and if you take the time to check out the history of, say, US advertising - that dates back to the 1920's with one Edward Bernays - you'll find that it is nothing other than a propaganda tool (see HERE). Propaganda was brought to the modern world by we Brits. Thereafter, the US learned most of our dark arts at Nanny's knees so to speak, during both world wars.

In the final analysis all media are so fraudulent as to be nearly useless...
