Twitter will soon allow its users to monetize their own content on the platform in addition to making long-form posts beyond the traditional character limit, CEO Elon Musk announced Saturday.

Musk, who took over Twitter in late October, has announced plans for sweeping changes to the company, already firing several top executives. Musk didn't detail how creators would be able to monetize their content, however.

"Twitter will soon add ability to attach long-form text to tweets, ending absurdity of notepad screenshots," Musk wrote Saturday.

"Followed by creator monetization for all forms of content," he added.…

I love this idea! I was on a place that once monetized our content and loved it there until they took it away. The site is no longer on line as many quit after that. Musk is great for internet freedom.

Thanks to Elon for doing that and to Fox Business Network for reporting it.

Since he is demonitizing the site as we speak, I wouldn't hold out for paid tweets. Heard they are desperately trying to get some people back that were "accidentally" fired last week i.e. he fired them without realizing how critical they were to day to day operations.

The best part of Elon purchasing twitter, he may brainwash his new conservative fan base to go electric and buy a Tesla.

That's a win in my book.

In this elections I will vote Democrats (thanks to GOP support of Trump), but I think Twitter became to much of Democrats mouth and I hope Musk will stop it. I have Twitter account, but I barely use it. If Musk will make Twitter more attractive - good for him and me. The only thing which makes me wonder - why he cancelled account of someone who was making fun of him - don't remember her name.

What Musk is talking about is this: Not only is the $8 a month going to get charged, but you as a content creator will get to charge a subscription fee as well. This is already in the books for OnlyFans but may soon be available to those who have large following whether it be a government, a newspaper, an entertainer, a celebrity, or even a politician. It is his way of trying to keep them there.

If I was the fired employee, my conditions upon return is a a 10% salary increase, a $150k bonus for signing, flexible work hours, and flexible work space. All nonnegotiable. If he does take it, good luck.

eventually all sites will require a credit card, so they can sell your information and hand it over to lawyers if needed... anonymity is going away

not sure how I feel about that, has good and bad sides to it, but obviously something has to change

I limit my social media presence but use it to only keep up with friends from around the country and the world.
