To completely ignore North Korea. The only mind we should pay them is if they aim a missile at any us or an ally. Then we shoot it down, then go back to ignoring them. They are isolated and should be until their regime collapses, 10, 50, 100 years from now. Until then, they get nothing.
I'm divided on this one. On the one hand, as long as the war games persist every year, North Korea will always have to be a militarised state. Sucks to be them. On the other hand, holding these war games, (the practise of marine landings) may be decisive in any war with them to come. It's a credible deterrent. The key to this one seems to be whether or not you feel the Koreans will kill each other if you do not. And it's anyone's guess in my opinion. Ultimately there has been no outbreak for 70 years. I'll take that as a win so far. Probably not a bad thing that a superior force keeps it's foot on their necks until we learn to get on with them. I don't care about it enough to volunteer.

North Korea has been a militarized state since it was founded in 1946. And currently it is the longest lasting International War, 62 years with only an armistice in place (North Korea has refused to ever sign or even consider a peace treaty with South Korea). No, I expect North Korea to stay militarized for about as long as Palestine to remain hostile to Israel. And the attacks from North Korea against South Korea every couple of years show no sign of stopping any time soon.

What nonsense. NK is militarized because its an authoritarian regime which makes enemies of others so it can control its own people through fear. That is where the problem lies... not in the SK efforts to defend itself from them, and the US supports this. And they are not 'war games', they are military training exercises which are vital for the functioning of the military. It's not just SK which is at risk from NK, but also Japan. NK has nothing to worry about training exercises - unless it starts something, but then they wont be exercises anymore.
