RT's Peter Lavelle interviews former MI6 senior officer, Alastair Crooke in the below clip, where the conclusion is that the US vision has collapsed and they now exhibit a "crude exercise" in "power". The consequence of this ideology is that the US and we'll either end up in a massive conflict (war) or the US will financially collapse (and he's uncertain which will come first).

Crooke points out that the borrowing requirement of the US in five years time will amount to 25% of GDP. It's massive and unsustainable.

Crooke has also written a recent parallel theme about Europe, it's drift to Fukuyama's Homo Economicus and the end of the Euro -- and hence the end of the EU:

    https://www.strategic-culture.org/n...ast-roll-of-dice-what-will-become-europe.html

Lastly, Crooke in the foregoing references the ideology of the US as having elements of the Nazi leaning Carl Schmitt (HERE) and his philosophy in terms of it's lack of interest in seeking any sort of compromise or attempts to resolve matters democratically.

It's either "our way or the highway."

Yes, it is a sad turn of events, what's happened in these united states.

Perhaps I'm being sentimental and hopelessly romantic, but IMO we reached our zenith of moral leadership in leading the efforts at Nuremberg after WWII.

Hartley Shawcross, one of our prosecutors there, noted that "there comes a point when a man must refuse to answer to his leader if he is also to answer to his own conscience." I reached that point years ago. Constitutional governance and the rule of law died in this country years ago.

American myopia in regard to the inevitable works for me.

Because they own all the power: all the media, all the politicians and all the corridors of power, the only way the US war elite will ever be dislodged and ordinary Americans get back their country is when the US financially collapses - as Crooke says in 5 years the US will be spending 25% of its GDP borrowing to keep the plates spinning.

And the first people to flee the sinking ship safely with their money will be the same elite.

Fleeing wealth will be the sound of inevitability arriving:

i think we may well all get whiplash after the next election... similar to the foreign policy switch between the Obama and Trump Administration... if the Democrats win they're going to deal with the first business at hand and that will be the economy in recession at that point...it may also mean the undoing of some of Trump's "power" policies.

So the american Lavelle, is really a russian agent, and not a journalist?

Pull out the tin foil hats boys.

Who would ever believe that a nation can go too deeply in debt? Balderdash! Debt has no relevance. Sorry, but that looks like tin foil hattery to me.

There wasn't really any foreign policy switch between Obama and Trump. Trump promised a different policy, but he hasn't been able to forward any of it. Our Presidents are dependent on certain power structures, so whatever they say goes. The only difference between the two presidents is how they present themselves. Trump is obnoxious, while Obama used his charm to spew out one lie after another.

An example of this is the attack on Gabbard for her foreign policy stances and how she is now changing her tune. The same goes for Bernie. The only thing that would change if the Democrats win is the farce of a Russian collusion. They wouldn't have any need of it anymore.

As for pulling out of a recession, well the traditional way for the Democrats has always been war. I see a return of the draft - and it will include women. I bet there will be a lot of loopholes for the elite.:salute:

Worse... American Peter Lavelle interview former British spy, Alastair Crooke.

Had this happened in London and been reported by a regular news source no criticism would've been possible.

It is only because of what Alastair Crooke has to say - given his former seniority in Britain's MI6 - that he is persona non grata by the British media that he gets reported by RT and other non mainstream media outlets.

Censorship lives and thrives in the Anglo-American sphere.
