Why is Merkel allowing Turkey to treat them this way? Even she admits this is "unacceptable". Why is she bowing down before Erdogan? Turkey has nothing in common with Western Europe, culturaly or politicaly yet some seem so intent to squeeze Turkey into the European Union.

Turkey is an islamist dictatorship, thoroughly incompatible with a civilised Western alliance.

    Thoughts?

Merkel is a commie and she's intent on destroying Germany by any means. It's her mission.

Turkey is manning the floodgates. If they wanted they could open them rather wide and **** Europe real hard.

Which is sorta what they've been doing.

It's time to wave good-bye to Turkey as it turns the clock back to the 7th century.

But for some strange reason, we don't see a proper topic of discussion: Turkey's relations with Europe go from bad to worse. Why is that?

Turkey wasn't an dictatorship. It seems to be one now. The same old story of a Fascist coup d'état. You can unleash all the philosophical rhetoric you want at it; a hostile take-over is still a hostile take-over. It's still the birth of Fascism, the end of civilized politics.

Fascism is not related to Islam or whatever religion. Fascism is a nameless entity, concerned only with the destruction of religion and society, not it's preservation.
Fascism is very simple game of acquiring absolute power, without any intentions to enhance the wel-being of a society and it's citizens.

What's happening in Turkey is what has not yet happened in America but already occurred in Germany. Germany of the 1930's that is.
    The death of a democracy.

Welcome to the repeat of history.
