Evidently not.....you should look into all those countries that were doing it long before the US comes along and then gets rid of it. Then look into who still was doing it after the US abolished slavery.

I didn't specify "hate" as a qualifying factor, but even then I don't believe the amount of fake hate crimes equals the number of real ones. I don't see this Jesse Smollet incident as a huge political thing. I see it for what it is ... a decidedly poorly conceived attempt at proving a point perpetrated by a misguided individual who seems to have a "victim complex". I no more see this as an attack against Trumpkateers than I would have seen it as an attack against all progressives had it been true. It is ridiculous to blame an entire political party for the actions of a couple individuals, imo.

 

Cmon now.....there are plenty of leftists still hanging around. If anything we should expect an uptick in Victimhood. Afterall the Lame Stream is full of them and must push the Demo agenda.

Start a thread on Slavery.....then you can show us how you read up on plenty of that history. This thread is on Smollett, an actor that faked a Hate crime for some attention, and now has been charged and is attempting to bond out.

 

What is your point again? Are you trying to play some kind of victim card? Are you angry at blacks for their continued participation in slavery. Are you trying to besmirch whites for what others did generations ago? Seems like you're trying to lash out at whites or something, but I can't quite follow your logic. Slavery is bad, pretty sure everyone agrees with that.

 

But like Smollett they are not true victims. But you are right in the sense that the bar for claimed victim hood is being constantly lowered in to produce more victims.

I don't know that they can get it in other than as rebutal to him taking the stand to show how well he can lie. The defense will move to disallow as irrelevant if the prosecution merely tries to enter it. Up to the judge then. His interview on ABC was not "illegal". NBC reported that Smollet got convicted in 2007 for DUI, driving w/o a license and - wait for it - providing false evidence to the authorities in Los Angeles where he was arrested. He was sentenced to two years probation.

Despite the predictions of the worst prognosticator on this board, it looks like Smollett will be going to jail if he is convicted of a Class 4 felony (1-3 years) along with the federal mail charges he could be looking at.

 

Ever hear the thing about glass houses and throwing stones? Heck, even our own Indians practiced slavery and probably still would if they were left untouched by civilized people.

 

At this point in time, I am surprised any supporter of this kid is still posting in this thread.
