Excuse me but... "Blue Lives Matter"?

What does #BlueLivesMatter mean, exactly? Are you trying to say that fire fighter lives don't matter? The lives of emergency medical technicians don't matter? Postal service workers? National Guardsmen? Waste Management? Pardon me, but I believe #AllPublicServiceLivesMatter and to make a hashtag movement acknowledging only one seems pretty servist™. Law enforcement officers have had the same protections as the rest of us for quite some time now, so I don't see why you folks are asking for some sort of special treatment.

Also, it's easy to point at black people and say "we want justice for cop killings", but what about fixing all the cop corruption from within first?

Per capita, cops are just as bad as the general public when it comes to violent crimes & assaults, and moreso when it comes to sexual assaults? Police officers should fix their issues from within, especially if people are insinuating that their lives matter more than others.

 

How does their crime rate compare with just balcks? Just wondering.

I agree, which is why I'm so perplexed when I don't see the "all lives matter" response when the topic is #BlueLivesMatter. Poor firefighters... they've got a tough job too, and you don't see them complaining.

No expert, but I have plenty of opinions so here's one.

Most people and the media do not care about the masses. The masses make news boring, don't raise money as well, and don't bring "champions" to the front (that is interesting). When the BLM movement was first coined the call that "All lives matter" followed shortly after. How much do you see reported about it? When did the media interview a person for ALM? It just never got traction....because they don't care to give it traction.

The media needs to report excitement and a movement that centers around only one group of people (Blacks, Police) make it more interesting. People are against other people, names will be called and all of the excitement. A large group of multicultural, multiprofessional, multiracial people saying ALM.......boring.......where's the fighting?

Until people in America start worrying about America instead of themselves it will always be that way.

It boils down to Politics.The MSM is dependent on the Democrats for their
Livlihoods.They have a very accommodating history of taking up for one
another.The MSM is nearly 100% Democrats. Look at the number of Conservative
Republicans at NBC,ABC,CBS. Like maybe nil Plus one.Plus 2 on some weekends.
So as the democrats go,so goes the MSM. And vice-versa.
Which explains why they are so disliked in Polls.Yet do well in General Elections.
Because they make sure to get the vote out and also Rig local elections.

and Talk Radio are vastly more popular.Under Obama's terms the democrat party

Democrat party as far as members in Congress and State Governorships.Plus
State legislatures.
So,to say the Democrat Party is truly desperate is an understatement.

Its clearly to say police lives matter. As they do.

As do all lives.

Its no more or less ignorant than the black lives matter hroup that protests police killings while they should be protesting in thier own neighborhoods.

The OPer just asserts that if police as people commit crimes like other people somehow then it concludes there should be no enhancement of the offense for assaulting or murdering a police officer. There is no logical basis for that assertion.

Nor does the chart indicate what percentage of offenses were committed while the officer was on duty and acting in professional capacity.

In my opinion, if a police officer commits a crime while in uniform or while acting in his/her professional capacity, the grade of the offense should be enhanced to the next highest grade of offense and punishment if proven guilty in court. If not in his/her professional capacity and not in uniform then no enhancement.

Equally, an assault or murder of a police officer if in her/his professional capacity or in uniform should be enhanced to a higher grade offense if the person found guilty in court. If the officer is not on duty and not in uniform then no enhancement.

Why? BLM doesn't add "too" at the end of "Black Lives Matter," do they? But it is apples and oranges. An attack against police because they are police is an attack against social order and rule of law itself.

Why is there any special laws concerning threats against the President? Anyone object to those? A person can make a threat about Trump or Clinton and it likely will not result in any prosecution. The exact same threat about the president is a federal crime. Why?

 

No, they don't. Yet, people take #BlackLivesMatter to mean that others don't.

I don't think cops have a problem saying all lives matter.

 

The problem with saying "all lives matter" (and they do)...is that it is used to push aside and ignore the issues that BLM are bringing up.

Be honest please.

The very people who retort with All lives Matter...NEVER bring up all the white and Latino people killed by police...because in reality...they're just "saying" that phrase...
