We have all wondered at times about the reality of our existence. Is this just a dream and I'll wake up tomorrow morning to a completely different reality? Or, perhaps the unsettling feeling of waking up from a dream that you could have sworn was real. When carefully dissecting our existence, one begins to realize that our grasp of the idea of our very being is tenuous, at best. After all, if we do exist, where did we come from and to where do we return? And what exactly is, "us." Is it just a matter of just not-knowing or is it an existential affair? I have previously made the case that it is not possible to [literally] understand anything, and certainly existence would qualify as the poster-child for such a proposition. Although the notion of existence fully reveals the limits of our intellectual capabilities, all things are just the same. It's just that we believe we understand less complex matters [until we don't]. So, do we exist in any substantive way or are we just like any other object that comes to life after perception/conceptualization? Would we exist if we were the only living creature in the Universe? And if we can't even define it, how can it be real? After all, what the hell is existence?
What is existence but awareness. But then, how did awareness come to exist? Trying to pin down one's existence is like trying to pin down one's source of awareness. All you'll find is the same thing: YOU. The self is inescapable & unknowable. It has no form, but can create (imagine) forms & have experiences through them.
All of humanity is just one organism. Each individual is comparable to a single cell that performs a specific role in the body of the organism.
