The EC is how we elect the President because we are a democratic republic, and our founds understood the importance of a Republic v mob rule. Trump wasn't the loser...he won.

 

Now you know how awful affirmative action feels and how people should be chosen by merit, not by who they associate with or what color of their skin. You know, MLK philosophies and all that. That said, I do prefer the electoral college to popular voting(or better said, it's dreadful to think that CA/NY have that much sway in the elections.) I think every EC vote should be counted as '1'. The one who wins a majority of States wins.

Part of the beauty of the EC is that it requires the President to be the President of all the United States..not just the western coast....it requires those that are running to actually travel and campaign in states around the nation. A great great thing.

Affirmative Action is the process, as it related to employee or enrollment in school, of rewarding or giving merit to a class of persons that have historically been discriminated against. It's not at all like the election process...and was not even a concept when our Founders wrote Art II, Section 1
