In today’s world economy, I’m sure many here engage in political discussions with people from countries not your own in real life as opposed to PF.

I have a custom silage company chop my corn silage. The owner hires almost exclusively South Africans now. This tractor of theirs showed up today at my place and prompted creation of this thread.

I’ve mentioned on PF before I enjoy talking with these guys. I’m amazed how similar they are to most midwesterners in agriculture. They judge a man by their character and work ethic, wishing to be left in peace to work the land. Frankly I’m also amazed at how even though that wish has been taken away from them at home, they exhibit no racial animosity.

In the past few years I’ve had conversations about politics with Cubans, Guatemalans, Mexicans, South Africans, Iranians, Indians, and Kazakhstanis. All on my place either for business or recreation. The Kazakhstani was very interesting as he was a falconer in the area for a falconer’s convention and came out to my place to hunt.

So, if anyone can pull themselves away from the circus in DC, lets hear your stories about talking politics with people having very different life experiences than your own.
