    WASHINGTON — The conversation at a London bar in September 2016 took a strange turn when the woman sitting across from George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser, asked a direct question: Was the Trump campaign working with Russia?

    The woman had set up the meeting to discuss foreign policy issues. But she was actually a government investigator posing as a research assistant, according to people familiar with the operation. The F.B.I. sent her to London as part of the counterintelligence inquiry opened that summer to better understand the Trump campaign’s links to Russia.

    The FBI was absolutely spying on the Trump campaign. They have been caught, even the NY Times is reporting it now as they try to regain some of their lost integrity.

    I wonder how long the NYT has been sitting on this story? And why are they running it all?

    I wonder if they are starting the process of getting out ahead of Horowitz's investigation?

    FBI still clinging to the Downer encounter as the catalyst for "crossfire setup". Priestep went to London the 1 st week of May though. Misfud has resurfaced, denies he ever offered dirt on Clinton, because he's a loyal member of the Clinton Foundation.

    I think you are right. The NY Times does not want to lose the little credibility it still has. They have largely ignored the DoJ/FBI attacks on Trump for 2 years, which is one of the biggest cases of corruption in our history. They know what is coming, and want to make sure they are not totally blasted for their lack of journalistic integrity.

    The NYT article still clings to the FBI's "patriotic duty" meme. It was an attempted political assassination gone bad, period. There weren't ANY noble intentions involved ... exactly the opposite. From Clapper to Strzok the hatred and fear is repeatedly displayed. The coup was well financed, and the efforts were extraordinary. MI6 for Chris'sakes?

    They involved British Operatives, the used Clinton dirty research, which involved Russian Operatives... this is way out of control.

    It's strange to me, to see U.S. Citizens ignore or be alright with what has happened, because of their ideology is Left and they put that ahead of integrity in our government.

    No. They began spying and no Russian ever offered Trump's campaign the DNC email. Not Veselnitskaya, paid by Fusion. Not Greenberg paid by the FBI. Not Misfud who says he never offered anything, wasn't paid by anyone.
