Unfortunately, this shows how Dr. Fauci has to deal with Trump. It is like dealing with a toddler who has power over him. He has to tread VERY carefully, or he will be out, and who knows what political hack will be put in charge next.

I wish someone could actually sit down with Trump and be 100% frank with him, telling him to just shut it and do what the experts say. Now, we all know this is not going to happen, because we know what happens to people who hurt Trump's fragile ego. I hope we will not all be paying a price for this.

We don't know that hasn't happened, and I'm going to assume people have tried.. Thinking way back to John Kelly, who I suspect would have had no issues with being frank.

However, I cannot think of anybody currently in this WH who would do that anymore. Somebody who Trump used to deal with who probably would be capable of telling Trump to stick it is Chris Christie, who along with Bill Weld and John Kasich are possibly the only 3 Republicans left in America...

    Everybody else has sold out..

You can probably add Romney to that list.

That is really the most ignorant thing I've ever seen anyone post.

You have no clue what HIPAA is: The Privacy Rule protects all "individually identifiable health information" held or transmitted by a covered entity or its business associate, in any form or media, whether electronic, paper, or oral. The Privacy Rule calls this information "protected health information (PHI)."12

I go back and forth with Willard... The impeachment vote was important and I think if push REALLY came to shove (and it might), he'd do the right thing, but he still toes the Trump line too often to be considered a truly independent (non Trump) voice...

You missed the point of my post, as in it went right over your head. I never said that he said that it actually helped. I was ASKING if that was the point. If that was the point then it was a weak point as Fauci said, "noting that while it is unclear exactly why the situation in Italy has remained so dire, it is possible that by blocking travel from China earlier this year, President Trump may have prevented a larger spread of the virus." On top of it you claim that we should read minds now. I have good reason not to take your posts seriously. You didn't comprehend one part of my post. Hell, if you can't read and comprehend a simple post how can you expect me to believe that you read minds? Maybe that part about "listening to what is nor said" is just a lame excuse for jumping to conclusions.

The OP is nonsensical, the China travel ban did have a big impact, and China HAS been secretive.

“What about the travel restrictions?” asked Cohen. “President Trump keeps saying that the travel ban for China, which began [Feb. 2], had a big impact [on slowing the spread of the virus to the United States] and that he wishes China would have told us three to four months earlier and that they were ‘very secretive.’ It just doesn’t comport with facts.

I know, but what do you want me to do?” replied Fauci. “I mean, seriously, Jon, let’s get real, what do you want me to do?”

So why did Fauci say the travel ban had a big impact? It is a fact China was very secretive.

Fauci might consider jumping in front of a bus.

This dude is supposed to be giving answers but he isn't going to stop Trump because Trump isn't saying anything wrong so he makes excuses to democrats. Of course they believe him.

That Fauci views himself as a folk hero. It's the same thing we suffered with Robert Mueller. We gave Mueller the power to be a Damocles over the political system, that too was a complete anormaly that in normal circumstances would never be.

The 'experts' routinely in this era see themselves as the government. I'm afraid we've yet to vote to consent to that.

You should click on the link in the yahoo article, to the actual interview. He spoke very highly of rhe president and that he listens.

thanks for that. It’s good to hear he’s listening to his excellent team of experts that have handled this remarkably and why a majority of Americans polled support his handling of this.

    Right !

Hope Trump will get rid of Fauci ASAP.

This guy is a RINO, and the country doesn't need disloyal people around the POTUS right now.

We all know that the facts have a strong Liberal bias.

So to make sure the president's message isn't contaminated by people who might jeopardize his re-election, Trump could appoint Matt Gaetz or Jim Jordan as chief immunologist.

    No ?

There's a difference between giving vital information, and thinking of oneself as the only source of said information or truth. Such people, far from being trustworthy are actually the first to deceive you. While Fauci wants to portray himself as being said only source, Trump has willingly let him be a source(and Fauci himself said that.)

However, he most certainly has worn out his welcome. His arrogance is unbefitting a spokesperson during this time of tragedy.

Trump always uses the first 10 minutes of his press briefings on the pandemic to do his self-promotion.

That's in addition to going after reporters who ask him questions he doesn't like.

    He's a disgrace, a dangerous clown.

When there were 15 cases, he claimed that the virus would go away on its own.

    We're down to 43,000 today. There'll be 56,000 tomorrow...125,000 in five days.

I think we kind of need to do the stuff that even Putin's doing. He released a bunch of tigers and elephants and stuff and it's like "If you wanna go out, you'll be animal food.". There needs to be a deterence from going out, one powerful enough to convince the people it's best to stay in and clearly it's not the virus.

At a very grave moment in which American lives are in danger somebody needs to jump in front of the microphone and tell us the facts.

Up to this point, Trump's lies have been somewhat enervating and his loyalists' excuses for them have been kinda "cute". But this is serious now. People are dying!

Yeah well normally our presidents are not so narsacistic, so amoral, so ego-centric. so crassly political to hog every forum about a global pandemic and turn it into a golden moment for their campaign for re election as a 'war-time president' .
Have I said recently how passionately I hate what those that voted for that man have done to us?
