I agree. But the qualifier I would put on your point is that it has to be good and authentic. If an Italian restaurant cannot make a good pomodoro, I'm not eating anything else - or even at that restaurant again!

My city has a large population of migrant harvesters during the picking season. Not only do we have lots of Mexican food but it's genuine. So I often get that. It's pretty cheap and actually good for you and tasty.
