A former intelligence contractor is suing controversial ex-FBI chief James Comey, claiming the bureau is covering up widespread surveillance on Americans.

Dennis Montgomery told news website Circa that the spying violated the civil liberties of prominent American politicians, business people - and even U.S. President Donald Trump.

Montgomery says he walked away with a staggering 600 million classified documents on 47 hard drives from the National Security Agency (NSA) and the CIA.

That haul is bigger than whistleblower Edward Snowden’s data breach. The surveillance was reportedly launched in 2015 - during former President Barack Obama’s administration.

“This domestic surveillance was all being done on computers supplied by the FBI,” Montgomery told Circa.

“So these supercomputers, which are FBI computers, the CIA is using them to do domestic surveillance.” Montgomery’s suit was filed Monday night.

The bombshell revelations come on the eve of Comey’s widely-anticipated appearance before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.

“They’re doing this domestic surveillance on Americans, running a project on U.S. soil,” Montgomery said.

“Can you imagine what someone can do with the information they were collecting on Americans, can you imagine that kind of power?”

Circa said a senior judge tried to reconcile the FBI and Montgomery to prevent the sensitive information leaking.

The whistleblower painted a bleak picture of the troubling extent of government spying. He named “the chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, other justices, 156 judges, prominent businessmen, and others such as Donald J. Trump, as well as Plaintiffs themselves.”

Montgomery was assured the FBI would undertake a thorough investigation. That did not happen, he said. Instead, they say Comey ordered subordinates to bury the probe.

Officials with the FBI and CIA declined to comment due to current and pending litigation.

Also named in the lawsuit were current NSA Director Mike Rogers, former CIA Director John Brennan and Obama.

Circa said the Comey lawsuit is “absolutely” on a far wider scale than the Russian collusion file.
