Laptop may contain thousands of messages sent to or from private server

As federal agents prepare to scour roughly 650,000 emails to see how many relate to a prior probe of Hillary Clinton’s email use, the surprise disclosure that investigators were pursuing the potential new evidence lays bare building tensions inside the bureau and the Justice Department over how to investigate the Democratic presidential nominee.

Metadata found on the laptop used by former Rep. Anthony Weiner and his estranged wife Huma Abedin, a close Clinton aide, suggests there may be thousands of emails sent to or from the private server that Mrs. Clinton used while she was secretary of state, according to people familiar with the matter. It will take weeks, at a minimum, to determine whether those messages are work-related from the time Ms. Abedin served with Mrs. Clinton at the State Department; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and whether they include either classified information or important new evidence in the Clinton email probe.

650,000 emails, and as Weiner (D) is cooperating with the FBI-no warrants are needed.

This is blowing up in Hillary's face. And the FBI may be in internal disarray over the Clinton corruption.

All 12 days before a Presidential election.

    Canks is in for it.

I'm betting some of Hillary's "missing" yoga emails are in there.

Isn't it great. Now that they longer need a warrant the libs will still cry about something to prevent them from opening the hushed casket of Hillary's scandals. I was just reading Facebook comments on articles about the situation, and it is embarrassing for people in this country to actually believe nothing was done wrong. People were actually saying stuff like "She did nothing illegal; HC for Prez". Complete and total embarrassment. I'll be glad when Trump wins.

I read where Comey has a stack of resignations on his desk from agents who believe the fix was in concerning Hillary. I also read where people he knows and trusts at the agency don't speak to him anymore. The agents who were in on the first investigation want to speak before Congress on how many restrictions were placed on them. His wife told him that he made a big mistake and he should own up to it. He has damaged the FBI and the morale of the agents. Maybe this is how he is going to try to right the wrong.

Where did you read that? Is his wife talking to the press?

Comey Reopened Investigation due to Mutinous Agents

It's been clear for some time that FBI agents were furious about the move not to indict Shrillary. And discovering the payoff to the lead investigator only made it worse. So, if he wanted to keep the agency intact, he had no other choice but to ignore Lynch and go ahead. I'll bet he announced it more to please his agents than to affect the election.

Some people, including department heads, stopped talking to Jim, and even ignored his greetings when they passed him in the hall,' said the source. 'They felt that he betrayed them and brought disgrace on the bureau by letting Hillary off with a slap on the wrist.'

According to the source, Comey fretted over the problem for months and discussed it at great length with his wife, Patrice.

He told his wife that he was depressed by the stack of resignation letters piling up on his desk from disaffected agents. The letters reminded him every day that morale in the FBI had hit rock bottom.

Maybe Republicans will be treated to photos of Weiner's weiner. They'd like that....Though it might not save their sinking presidential campaign.

That's what I heard last night from a someone who knows a couple of FBI agents who work out the New York FBI office. If Comey didn't tell Obama and Loretta Lynch to go (*)(*)(*)(*) themselves, that the FBI was going to uphold the law, there was going to be a massive exodus of FBI agents resigning and leaving the FBI.

Can't blame it on the Russians, can't blame hackers, can't blame Trump, can't blame the media, can't blame the same Comey she praised just recently-it all falls on Hillary and the poor decisions she made.

Its like cancer-once it comes back the second time, its quite likely to be fatal.

    In this case, politically.

She thinks she can run out the clock-she's wrong.

Comey talked about it. FBI agents won't even say hello to him in the hallways.

To be clear-he didn't suddenly grow a consciousness, he's just gauging the response, and analyzing it.

He's trying to survive professionally in an environment where politics may not allow it.

The safe bet is on the truth, and he's coming around to that.

Not mentioned (it will be soon) is the impact hackers, law enforcement officers, etc are having.

Lolz at Hillary supporter watching it slip away.

She can't step into a bus, she's got an ataxic gait.

But she's SOOOO into yoga n stuff.

Never seen a candidate this flawed in my life.

They are writing books about it.

BTW, I did santiago peak today. Cleared brush with my Mora, got a few cuts. There was (warm) drizzle.

Comey knows he can't cover anymore. He also is now more afraid of hackers and his agents than he is of democrats.

Dem corruption will see sunlight soon.

    Dems will scurry away.

My oldest daughter once was a very fast motocross racer. I took her to Saddleback for a major race there when she was then racing. Do they still race there?

Its a reference to southern california (not too far off from the UK population wise)

We are discussing local geography and climate.

More than 1 in 10 Americans are Californian.

I stare at Santiago peak daily.

Its one of 2 peaks I refer to as "the horns" (reference Battle of the Horns)

    Part of the saddleback range.

    Saddleback Mountain.
Never made that hike to Santiago Peak. Twenty five or so years ago did start from the trail head and went as far as Holly Jim Falls.
I hear the hike up to Santiago Peak isn't an easy hike and you have to be in pretty good shape.

It wasn't the people (Democrats) who decided to run a gangster for President but the corrupt banana republic DNC.

If Crooked Hillary were to become POTUS, the next revolt will probably happen with in the Secret Service.

They have a warrant, but they are always needed really as a matter of procedure and authenticity. They are part of the chain of evidence and a legal technicality. If a man shoots his wife, the police respond to the scene with EMS, the family lets the police in and consents to the search, the police will still get a warrant before they actually start removing evidence.

He lives in Orange County. This is in the Los Angeles area of Ca. In the hills, there is a park called Saddleback. It was or may still be a very good motocross track. My daughter last raced there around 1980-1. It was a major event that attracted racers from all over the world.

When he said where he hiked to, it is in that same area.

All this and Trump still struggles against her in the polls. It really does speak volumes of how bad a candidate Trump really is. It must be frustrating, especially if she wins, that you Repubs could have picked any one in that clown car lineup and they would be smoking Hillary right now. You guys decided to go all cult-like over Trump though making it even now very possible to get your little nightmare into the white house
