I'm going to stand by what I said because, while what you say is true, the original poster didn't specify NOW or last year.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on your story but there are always those that say people on welfare are always buying steaks and lobster and such things when while that might be true, it is probably a one time deal. Your lady is living high but there are a lot that are just getting by.

Trump gave it to them with an EO.

    Citation needed.

If there was an EO in place, the court wouldn't have ruled against the CDC

The Fed Govt alone has been giving out 600 dollars a week in extra UE since all this started. That is on top of any state money. And most starts are just now starting to require job hunting. There is a **** ton of empty jobs that will not get filled till they cut back on the UE money, as taking one would mean a pay cut

Unless the EO gave them a power they did not have

They ruled in is not an interstate commerece issue and would normally come under state policing powers but even in states such moratoriums are being challenged. How can the government force someone to lose money and force them to allow someone to live in a property they own without paying rent to do so?

The court would have addressed the EO, which haven't seen a citation for yet. And at any point, if this was an EO, Biden could reestablish it absent the directive from the CDC.

This is a basic due process problem for government. As stated in the bill of rights, government cannot deprive you of life property etc absent due process. As none was provided, the order is without constitutional basis. The law describing emergency powers for the CDC also doesn't produce this authority for the CDC. So, many lanes of legal challenges here.

You cannot grant legislative power by EO. You cannot deprive people of their property and income by EO. You cannot violate the Constitution by EO.

like the drug laws, the people hated prohibition, so congress bypassed it and created a group that could arbitrarily make plants illegal at will

then they do not even follow their own rules and make Marijuana a scheduled one substance, even though it does not fit their artificial criteria of having no valid medical purpose

if the DEA can't follow their own rules for scheduling drugs, why should anyone follow their rules?

    https://www.dea.gov/drug-scheduling

"Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse."

I think this is one item that is a bipartisan issue in that the CDC's order is an extreme over reach.

I wouldn't if I was Biden. If people knock off the crap and get vaccinated and we can reach a good number there......then I would.

Once this moratorium is over, lots and lots of people going to be facing eviction thinking they got to live for free. They didn't, and some are going to owe tens of thousands of dollars in late rent and fees.

I am part of a local landlord group, and we as a group already have a list of people that will be evicted. That list will be monitored by other landlords. They won't lease to these people again.

Have you seen the housing demand lately? Far more people looking for housing than renters.

Landlords could evict these parasites and have somebody in the unit in a week demand is so high.

These people that played stupid games are about to win stupid prizes.
