Hardly the best. They deserved to lose. Not only did they lose it’s the earliest the women’s USA team has ever been eliminated. That’s what happens when you have a team that thinks politics is more important than playing the game they’re paid to play. This team is garbage and I’m glad they lost.

It's sad to see someone so polarised by politics that they are actually pleased to see their national team lose.

Very frustrating. I thought we outplayed Sweden yet our maddening inability to put the ball in the net proved to be our undoing, particularly during the shootout. The opportunity to put Sweden away was in our grasp and then we missed 3 PKs. You can't do that.

The stats were very one sided but you lacked a killer striker.
Sweden were very good in defence to give them their credit but they didn't trouble the USA goal.
It's going to hurt because they know they should have won.

    Got to feel for Rapinoe.
Her last touch of the ball in a USA shirt and she lofted it like Harry Kane.

That we did. Alex Morgan was snake bit through the entire tournament and Sophia Smith had one great game and then vanished. Lynn Williams played well today at right wing but was never a scoring threat like Tim Weah was for the men. Rapinoe was hapless at left wing and Rodman and Thompson played like the youngsters that they are. The front line was in flux heading into the Cup and it showed.

Sweden's goalie was magnificent. She was the Player of the Game in my book.

Moving forward, I hope this loss sticks in the young players' craws and motivates them to play better and harder in 2027.

I think Sweden did that rather good. They knew the US had something to prove and they could not allow them to get caught in a 1 to 1 punching match.
Their goaly more then outstanding. Yes Sweden got away lucky, but very clever lucky and has to do far better in the next round.

The colonial game will be interesting.

It’s sad to me to see players trash the flag that sent them there. They’re not representing our country. If you think they are you need to catch up.

I haven't got a clue as to whether or not the USA had the best team. I don't give a **** about women's soccer. And this is from someone that watches the Premiere League every weekend.

I don't give a **** about women's sports except when they represent their country. But these spoiled arrogant ****s don't represent their country. I'm thrilled they lost. :applause:

I am sad to say..I am glad the USNWT is out of the womens world cup

they were a piss poor representation of the USA and sportsmanship

having attended the last 2 world cups, 2018 in Russia and 2022 in Qatar

only one time did I see political advocacy during the tournament,,

on a subway to see the Iranian team play , their fans were singing a political song dedicated to the women of Iran

obviously, I did not understand the words of the song...but more than one person told me about the song

the common theme during both tournaments was the fans loved their home country and its team

both Russia and Qatar welcomed the other countries without prejudice ..

and the visiting teams were there without predjudice ..

it was a wonderful thing ..Sport truly is the best ambassador possible for all countries

    England 0 Nigeria 0.
Extra time with England down to 10 players.
Nigeria with the best chances so far.
    Not looking good...

I think we had the killer strikers. All three of Morgan, Horan and Smith had phenomenal attempts that should have resulted in goals if we were facing any other goalkeeper. Sweden's goalkeeper won the game for them. We had our best game in ages but were stopped by one of the most outstanding goalkeepers to ever play the game.

Nigeria hit the woodwork twice if I understand correctly (I'm watching but not very attentively).

Well said, Monte. It's quite incredible. Regardless of politics, I will never root against my national team. I pity those who do. And they say they're the patriots! Yeah, right! And to call this a deserved loss just because of politics is to really ignore the game, given that the USWNT dominated play thoroughly and were clearly the better team.

Mirrored the USA game with the better team going out.
England had no answer to Nigeria's close marking.
There will be more of that if they have to play Columbia.
