I totally get where this film maker is coming from. My father did not live to see FOX. I feel sure he would have tuned in! (He was 'bright' and cynical enough to question THEIR posturing and RW propaganda but I'll never know). I had a conversation with a nice lady in my building who 'went off' one day on our husband. She said he was a life-long Democrat. They were from NEW JERSEY. Says he has been 'brainwashed' since they retired in this community and exclaimed, "where does he get all this s---".

Writer and documentarian Jen Senko has released a trailer for the film “The Brainwashing of my Dad,” in which she explores her father’s political conversion from lifelong Democrat into angry, ultra-conservative talk radio listener.

Talking Points Memo reported that Senko raised funds for the project via Kickstarter.

The donor page explained, “As filmmaker, Jen Senko, tries to understand the transformation of her father from a mild mannered life-long Democrat to an angry, Right-Wing fanatic, she uncovers the forces behind the media that changed him completely: a plan by Roger Ailes under Nixon for a media by the GOP, The Powell Memo and the dismantling of the Fairness Doctrine, all of which would ultimately misinform millions, divide families and even the country itself.”

Author Noam Chomsky, Eric Boehlert of Media Matters and others appear in the film, explaining how conservative media has become a billion dollar business in the U.S. and what steps could be taken to break its stranglehold on the national discourse. The film is set to premiere in August of 2014.

Don't you find it ironic that you are complaining about Fox and linking an article by The Raw Story?

Wow, one news network with fair and balanced programming against an entire media industry that brain washes loons like occupy wall street, not to forget the violence they incite. I guess the guy in this story is just sick to death of the liberal lies that comes out of Obama's mouth on a daily basis.

Insane violence was constantly present from occu-turd squatters, but not one single incidence at a TEA Party event. Yeah, try and wrap your mind about who the loons are. TEA Party protests, neat clean and orderly, occu-turds, vicious, foul, drug induced animals reminiscent of third world slums

Liberals won't be happy until they silence all dissent. Apparently having CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC in their pocket isn't enough. They need to take down the #1 cable news source that stands against them.

This guy is crying about his father being against his politics.

At least he didn't assult anyone.

Or how about shooting people because they don't agree with gay marriage?

What news channels were these lunatic liberals watching or reading?

FOX was NEVER about fair and balanced. FOX was Aisles brainchild for a REPUBLICAN PROPAGANDA TOOL and was conceived when Aisles worked for NIXON. He found his kindred spirt/MONEY MAN in RUPERT MURDOCH. Murdoch wanted a cable empire. Murdoch wasn't AMERICAN and couldn't buy media. RUPERT MURDOCH jumped to the head of the line for AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP in the late 80's. (This during the Reagan administration--that was probably just a coincidence). 5 years later FOX was on the air.

DON'T try to blow smoke up our skirts here--we know more than you.

I find it endlessly amusing when the lower IQ liberals start ranting about how Fox is biased when Fox is in no way shape or form more biased than any of the other major American news outlet.

By the way, I do like the inappropriate and excessive use of capitalization. It gives the impression that you are likely foaming at the mouth as you pound on the keyboard while yelling profanity. Too funny.

What IS the average age of a Fox News viewer?

Pretty clear if you watch the national ads...chock full of ones like Fred Thompson selling supplemental Medicare insurance.

I worked in DC. I traveled in and out of Union Station. A month did not go by without a 'threat' at my place of business or the train station that didn't send us out to the streets. Besides, the Right tells us daily (hourly on this board), LIBERALS ARE LAZY, POOR and STUPID. Terrrorist attacks take time, planning, some smartz and at least some money.

    SO WHICH IS IT??

This is my favorite talking point of theirs. If we're so poor, lazy and stupid- then why have I been on my own since 19, live in one of the best cities in the country in a solidly middle/upper middle class neighborhood, and have a great job? I also have almost no debt. Hmm, I thought we weren't fiscally responsible?

Well, we both know the answer to that one. You only had roughly 3% of all available men in the U.S. at your disposal.

Sadly, that is the nature of media today. While I'm not defending Fox, they are not the only new source that is guilty of this practice.....ALL major (and a lot of minor) news sources are guilty of this. The reason is not always some great conspiracy to shape the minds of the naive....most of the time it is more about money. However, I do believe that the media on both sides of the political isle know exactly what power they have in shaping the direction this country will head and they take full advantage of it....and as I said, both sides are guilty of it.

I would agree that hypocrisy would be a much more accurate description. Now whether that hypocrisy is intentional because of your political leanings, or because of ignorance or naiveness, you would be a better judge of that. However, if you are just ignorant or naive, how you would know?

Ever notice all you hear from the left is (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing and complaining? Maybe her father saw what he never saw before and realized he was wrong.

There are many MEDIA watchers (both inside and OUT of the US) who take 'measurements' of media. How many times stories are reported WRONGLY (n the face of known facst), stories 'pushed', inflammatory language, names used derogatorily--FOX 'wins' these counts/observations repeatedly (of course--America loses).

I figure it will take another decade and FOX will be some little RW entity that has the last gasp of the 80/90 year old neanderthals or is GONE ENTIRELY. (This is AISLES and MURDOCH'S baby and both are getting pretty old themselves). Add to that, the average viewer being a 67 year old white male--well, you can do arithmetic.

REMEMBER, FOX paid to play! FOX paid cable providers for each household that was signed up ($11 as I remember). That hadn't been done before. ALSO REMEMBER, in many communities, you had to have 3rd (or 4th?) tier CABLE package to even get MSNBC (I didn't get MSNBC till 4 years ago). FOX was on our 2nd tier. Something to do with PAYING those cable providers? Naaaah, I'm sure there was no connection!

Another good film that reveals the Fox brainwashing is Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism (2004). Ten years ago everyone was aware what Fox was doing.

I guess you don't understand what I meant. I meant on my own financially. But you had nothing to say about that, so you had to twist my words, didn't you? You've got major problems.

I would never blow smoke up your skirt, I wouldn't want anything to do with what is up your skirt. :roflol:

Hey Miss Picture taker, do you have a problem with Murdoch donating more to democrats than republicans? Do you have a problem with him donating to Obama especially? Your hypocrisy is laughable. FOX is fair and balanced, every news analyst program has liberals and conservatives arguing points. You should try viewing it sometime, I actually want to hear the other point of view, so unlike you liberals who think another point of view is evil

Liberals like you would just as soon shut down any dissension from your liberal ideas, and you appear to want a return to a nazi or soviet run state where the news is nothing but propaganda with no dissension. Is that the kind of country you want to live in?

Nope, no foaming. And no less excited about my point of view than ANYONE (that one is INTENTIONAL) else on this board. As for the capitalization--many times it is on purpose. (Sometimes, the key gets stuck after typing the first letter of a sentence and and I just run with it). STILL can't embed graphics. Smilies don't seem to show up when I try to attach them. So I capitalize.

So what, who cares what age they are, and WTF does that have to do with fair and balance news analysis? Are you concerned with the age of viewers with MSNBC? Oops, I forgot, their 22 viewers are pretty young. :roflol:
