Columbia University Temporarily Suspends Two Anti-Israel Groups on Campus

'Columbia University is the second private university to hold anti-Israel student organizations accountable. Columbia temporarily suspended two groups on campus until the end of the fall term, about a month.'

'Columbia is following the lead of the first private university, Brandeis University, to take disciplinary action against the National Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). It suspended a second organization – Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP). Both anti-Israel groups held an unauthorized event that “included threatening rhetoric and intimidation.” University administrators said the groups were warned not to hold their event.'

'that suspension means “the two groups will not be eligible to hold events on campus or receive University funding.”'

“Like all student groups, SJP and JVP are required to abide by University policies and procedures,”

These hate groups were operating under the assumption that lawlessness threats and intimidation were ok as long as it was directed against Jews. So many of these pro-Hamas haters are here on guest VISAS that another school did not carry through on it's suspension threat for violative behavior because it would have subjected them to deportation. When either students or professors engage in such racist acts, I support canceling their VISAS and immediately deporting them.

Hamas is recognized as a Terrorist Organization by the United States and every human being with a brain and an iota of compassion. There is no grey area here. This is the first suspension for the hate group JVP. Jewish students were not able to attend classes on Thursday as the racial hate was so high that to do so would put them in danger, on a US University, simply for the 'crime' of being Jewish in America.

This is because of these hate groups pouring out in support of Hamas murdering and raping innocent Jews in Israel, for the 'crime' of being Jewish in Israel.

That this has been allowed to persist on US campuses for more than 5 weeks tells us all we need to know about the US University system and the racial hatred it fosters.

    Please discuss.

The new President of Colombia is making some tough decisions.

Actually I'm just posting in this thread to brag that my son attends that school.

Gotta love it. Some anti-Israel law students (I forget which university) also recently got their future job offers revoked.

"A top US law firm has rescinded job offers for three Ivy League students after they allegedly signed letters about the Israel-Hamas war. An internal email at Law firm Davis Polk revealed that the company withdrew the offers to the three law students at Harvard and Columbia universities over their apparent signatures on public statements."

All I can say for those students is you indeed have freedom of speech. You do not, however, have immunity from the consequences of using said free speech....

if they were preaching hate, there can be consequences, no different from any other group preaching hate, be it anti-LGBTQ, anti-POC, or anti-White, etc....

one can defend innocent Palestinians being killed, they can not promote innocent Jews being killed or even innocent Palestinians being killed

it's the difference between "make love, not war" and "kill them all" type speech, the later is not allowed

One hopes that student groups can be as anti Israeli as they like, as pro palestine as they like, but they needed to follow the policies of the university. I am a hater too. I hate the Aparteid-like conduct of Israel as it continues to annex Palestine, bully and harass its population until they all leave their own land, homes and belongings in desperation. I hate terrorists like Hamas who target concerts and murder hundreds of innocent Israelis including men women and children.

    Absolutely agree.

But what did they actually say?
I find it disturbing that so much anti-war and pro-palestinian protest is being framed as hatred of Jews, while so many hateful things are said and so many calls for violence are defended by this excuse.
We should be standing up for peace, against attrocity, against Hamas, against Israeli ministers calling for genocide. We should be standing up for the hostages taken by Hamas and for the Palestinian civilians killed by both Hamas and Israel.

What do you think - did trump criticise Israel and praise Hezbollah?
MAGA loves terrorists who hate Israel.

Lol. You have Trump making one comment and the left is rabidly filled with people who are siding with Palestine and who are against the Jews.

But just keep making your claim and pretending that it's not happening.
So I'll ask you again do you think these were conservative college groups?

Did you get in a Dodge Challenger to dodge around that question?

They didn't occupy Gaza and the West Bank is disputed territory. The Jewish settlements in the disputed territories have as much right to grow as the Palestinian settlements do.

Well that is what you guys have been claiming for years but the fact of the matter is the mask is now coming off and we see which party is home to the anti-semites.

Notice you still wouldn't answer the question?

That's because these anti-semites on campus are progressive liberals and you just don't want to admit it

There are anti-Semitic people on both sides. But you need to own the neo-nazi MAGAs.

    Can We Save our Universities?

'It took the widely reported, repellent, and exempt wave of anti-Semitism and violent pro-Hamas protestors harassing Jews, finally to convince Americans that their own hallmark universities are illiberal centers of mediocrity and intolerance—and increasingly unsafe.'

    They house a great evil.

'Of course, Americans had long known that something had gone wrong at their colleges. They had increasingly encountered college graduates who were poorly educated in basic skills and lacked general knowledge—and yet highly politicized, and intolerant of different views and opinions. Ignorant but arrogant is a sad way to start an adult life.'

    Snotty Arrogant Hateful Morons

'College, the public knew, has certainly eroded from our cherished idea of a four-year idealized respite from adult employment. It once was intended to be a place where youth learned to be open-minded, tolerant, skilled, and eager to learn the nature and traditions of Western civilization, art, literature, languages, philosophy, and history.'

'Instead, all too often “college” has now descended into a six-to-seven-year misadventure that nationwide often results in only half those enrolled ever receiving degrees. Nearly all sink deeply in student debt. And yet for all the borrowed tuition money, few prove capable of writing analytically, speaking articulately, or knowing the general referents, past and present, of their very civilization.'

We need to quit the public funding of this toxic industry.

ANTI-SEMITIC PRIVILEGE EDITION: Columbia Administrators Stand By as Anti-Israel Protesters Overrun Law School.

“Administrators at Columbia Law School stood by for hours on Thursday as anti-Israel protesters took over the law school’s lobby, refusing to shut down an unauthorized demonstration that disrupted nearby classes for nearly three hours and violated several school policies. The law school has said nothing about whether the demonstrators will suffer any consequences.”

    Pro-Hamas Privilege.

'Consequences? Ilhan Omar's Daughter Faces a Few'

This is the poor girl who is still trying to figure out if her Uncle is also her Dad.

'NYPD cops arrested anti-Israel, pro-Hamas protestors from Columbia University grounds today after the president of the college finally made the decision to remove the protestors. Rep. Ilhan Omar's daughter, Isra Hirsi, was one of the protestors and she’s been suspended from Barnard College (Columbia’s all female sister school) for her role in the protests. Hundreds of protestors were removed by police and dozens were arrested. As officers moved in, some of the agitators surrounded the cops chanting “let them go” and “shame on you” as some protestors locked arms and refused to leave during the arrests.'

I know someone who just got hired there. Thank Goodness she isn't Jewish. She's got a good chance of surviving there.
