I didn’t realize the downloads were behind a pay wall. The graphic of statistics from the census were the important part. The census and FBI and UCR all have data you just have to do a lot of digging and coalition. Psychology Today can be nutty but leftists seem to like it so there’s that. :). It’s useful.

I think you kind of answered your own question. You can’t teach what you don’t know. I’m one of those dinosaurs that still believe males and females are different emotionally and in how they react to stimuli such as fear and stress. So a female can’t teach as well in this department to a boy/young man because they haven’t experienced it in the same way.

I already brought up the importance of learning from someone you love and have since before you were aware of it. The military can teach discipline, but it’s kind of analogous to breaking a horse to ride. Venues like military schools etc can break the horse, but it will never be as responsive as one trained using methods of love, implicit trust, and mutual respect. Only a stable father from birth can bring the whole package to bear. Of course this is my opinion based on experience and studying the research. And I was blessed with a great father. :)

Maybe it isn't what the father teaches?

For example let's say there is a young girl named Sara and Sara doesn't have a father. She makes friends with another young girl named Sally and Sally does have a father. Sara sees that Sally has something that she doesn't and possibly that makes her upset and longing to have what Sally does.

People want to know where they come from it's a fundamental step in knowing who you are as a person and rooting yourself. If you don't have those roots you can be easily swayed

My honest opinion is it's for lack of a better word a fad. Loner troubled kids never did this until Columbine pushed it front and center. Now you get these kids with serious issues wanting to go out with a bang and make headlines as they go. As for what we can do about it the answer is nothing. Genie is out of the bottle and it's not going back in so get used to it just like we got used to cars going 80 mph instead of 8 mph. Times change and often not for the better.

Hate is an emotional, not a logical, response to a stimulus. As there is no logical reason for it finding a logical ways to stop it is like trying to find butterflies at the North Pole.

None of those ideas would do a bit of good.

Ever looked on youtube? There are how to videos there about how to rapid fire...a SINGLE SHOT shotgun. Or for that matter archaic guns (muzzleloaders). You can use either of those to shoot and kill large numbers of people.

For that matter you don't even need a gun. A company is advertising a drone with a plasma ignited flamethrower. It can sustain a stream of fire for fully 90 seconds. Imagine what it could do to the entrance to a school, restaurant or theatre. And the operator can stay out of harms way.

Right, and I don't think I'm denying he would be a terrible father figure. But I don't know how much that would matter.

I feel like those are song lyrics.

I was trying to see the rational behind what they were getting at. Like if they were excluding certain types (like extended, LGBT) to make a point. But I'm going to wave those accusations. I see what you're saying about discipline but I don't think I could universalize it. Like it's assuming that mothers can't teach discipline the way fathers do. There's discipline even in things like cooking and doing laundry. You have to do it. It doesn't matter what you want to do, you have to do it. But I get what you're saying. They need discipline. But it seems so limited to say that it comes from the father. Like what about personal developments in discipline? I learned a lot of discipline from bicycling. It doesn't matter what you want, there will be a hill you have to cross.

So roots then? So kind of like personal history of who you are? Like part of your identity as an individual?

I see one major root cause here. It is a community of xenophobic hatred that draws the most pathetic people to share that hatred and grow in it together. They encourage one another. Add in personal problems and personality disorders of the kind that people drawn to this kind of crap would tend to have, as well as gun freedumb in America, and wallah! A recipe for mass murder by sick individuals whose minds are filled with disinformation-inspired hatred for those they target. They love to hate the Jews especially, and it was not too long ago we saw them targeted. It is only a matter of time until such online communities inspire more of the same in fundamentally similar individuals.

The FBI have done extensive research on this but unfortunately it will not let me copy/paste so I recommend page 7

The FBI archives are of public record (along with all government documents) so it is perfectly okay to cut and paste any amount of that data without having to worry about a copyright violation. Government data that isn't classified belongs to the people.

    Not necessarily
Guns are also associated with the “weapons effect”

A normal response is to give motives. Your response was "the shooter was inefficient".

I think a period of mandatory national service would be a great help for young men.

Maybe between the sophmore and junior year of high school. This would be highly disciplined, highly physically experience.
They'd learn work ethic, teamwork and pride in a job well done.

I would have strenuously objected to this at that age but looking back i desperately wish that a program like that would have existed.
I'm also deeply ashamed that i didn't join the military.

    Are you sure about that?

The El Paso shooter titled his manifesto after Al Gore's book, blames humans for polluting the planet with plastics, blames humans for deforestation, and rants against corporations.

Those are all left-wing talking points.

So, the El Paso shooter was left-wing racist.

I never said that. I was just giving examples to show how any gun control measures would not work.

You want the root cause? You have to look for changes that have happened since these murders have become more commonplace. I look back and see plenty of guns, most families owned at least one. So easy to buy, you could order them through a Sears catalog. The local elementary school had a shooting range in the basement. Kids left guns in their cars at school to go hunting afterwards. What has changed? IMO, it is the breakup of the nuclear family and the attempts to tear our Christian/western culture apart. Discipline declines, morals decay, kids are losing direction and aren't getting the guidance they need to put them on the straight and narrow. Some look for an easy solution, ban guns and all our problems will be cured. There are no easy solutions. It will get worse before it gets better. Like a druggy who has to hit rock bottom before they recover, so will our society have to have a major upheaval before we realize we have to work together in order to survive.
