Plaintiff Stephanie Ross Desimone filed suit against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia alleging the nation provided material support to Al-Qaida in its terror attacks against the United States on September 11th, 2001. This represents the first of such filingsthereare almost certainly to be many following, since the United States Congress last Wednesday overrode President Obamas veto of a sovereign immunity bill allowing foreign governments to be sued in the United States for supporting terrorist acts within the US borders. Stephanies husband, Navy Cdr. Patrick Dunn, was murdered when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon. https://jonathanturley.org/2016/10/...essional-override-of-sovereign-immunity-bill/ A link to the actual federal complaint follows: https://jonathanturley.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/desimore-v-saudi-arabia.pdf I haven't read the entire complaint yet but upon an initial reading, the plaintiff's attorneys essentially regurgitate a summary of the OCT almost verbatim. I assume if they didn't, the suit might be dismissed by the judge as a frivolous action. It will be extremely interesting what the defense argues. I'd be even more interested in a lawsuit from any of the Jersey Girls or Bob McIlvaine, if any are in the pipeline.
